The Bold and the Beautiful recap (June 22): Hope kisses Thomas (for real)

It finally happened! Hope kissed Thomas on The Bold and the Beautiful, and it doesn’t look like they’re going to walk it back as a dream sequence considering Liam bore witness to his wife and rival’s sweeping moment in front of the Colosseum. He’d been running around Rome looking for Hope, having touched down in the beautiful locale too late to catch the Hope for the Future fashion show.

Liam had, however, run into Steffy as she was wrapping up at the venue HFTF had their preview. She was surprised to see him, and he explained that he’d been searching for Hope. Steffy couldn’t point him in any one direction because she wasn’t there when Thomas and Hope decided to go explore the city together. But she did apologize for contributing to any doubt he may have been feeling about where Hope’s heart lies. Steffy told him that she knows how much Hope loves him, and that the Logan realizes what she has with him. She’d extended a similar apology to Hope earlier in the episode and had said she was wrong. Clearly, she wasn’t given Thope’s kiss.

Thomas and Hope stopped at the Colosseum after visiting the Trevi Fountain. Liam had just missed them at the famed architectural marvel and had just caught up to them when he saw the pair talking at a lookout spot. They’d been discussing their glorious day again and Thomas was gushing about the beauty they were surrounded by including Hope. Swept up in the moment, Hope pulled her lead designer in for a kiss, and Thomas threw himself into it as well.

Liam got a show he wasn’t prepared for and was horrified by the sight. The press had sung nothing but praises about Thope’s professional union, and the two cited how well they work together. They, however, have clearly crossed the line unaware that Hope’s husband got a front row seat to this new development in their relationship. I can’t wait to see where this messy romantic entanglement goes next.

In the other romantic plot the story is exploring, “destiny” found a way just like Brooke had hoped. After the press conference, the pair and Carter were told of a local tradition involving the Aventine Keyhole. It’s believed that looking into the keyhole will show you your future. The trio planned on going to the sight, but Brooke sendt Ridge and Carter ahead of her so she could change out of the gorgeous peach dress she’d worn for the fashion show.

Ridge was concerned she’d get lost, but Brooke waved him off and told him she’d be fine. Of course, she did wind up getting lost and her phone died so she couldn’t tell them where she was. A tad irritated, Ridge thought Brooke wasn’t going to show up, but Carter encouraged him to continue waiting and that they should look through the keyhole while they waited.

Though he grumbled about it at first, Ridge did look through the keyhole and lo and behold there Brooke was on the other side of the doorway trying to figure out how to get to their location. Ridge couldn’t believe it. This is certainly the sign he needed to feel secure in his love for Brooke. Prior to his jaunt into the city, he’d told her that he was trying to protect them both from the pain they keep inflicting on each other.

But, Ridge is also a romantic and this moment in front of the Aventine Keyhole is going to go a long way to reuniting Bridge. You can feel the romance in the air. Time will tell how long they get to enjoy it before the drama their kids are about to be thrust in dampens the mood.
