How old is Nick Fury in Secret Invasion?

Secret Invasion just premiered and is notable for featuring Nick Fury in the lead role. It plays on Fury’s age handling a deadly alien attack, but that has fans wondering just how old this master spy truly is.

In the Marvel comics, Nick Fury is one of the oldest characters around. It was established Fury was a soldier in his 20s during World War II and in his 40s when he was recruited to form SHIELD. Thus, for a while, it was logical Fury could still be going around in action, just with gray hair at the temples.

As the decades went on, Marvel explained that Fury had been subjected to a special formula that slowed his aging down, allowing him to still look much younger. He’s also been subjected to a few resurrections now and then that likewise have him looking well when he should be a century old.

As the MCU works a bit more realistic than the comics, they avoid the entire World War II storyline, yet it does make Fury’s age a bit tricky to figure out.

How old is Nick Fury in Secret Invasion?

Captain Marvel showed that Fury was a SHIELD agent in the 1990s, and if one freezes the frame, it shows his ID card says he was born on July 4, 1950. As the “current” MCU is set in 2025, that would make Fury 75, which is a year older than Samuel L. Jackson is in real life.

However, it should be remembered Fury was among those taken in “The Blip” when Thanos snapped away half the universe in Avengers: Infinity War and then restored five years later in Endgame. Thus, technically, Fury is actually 70 years old.

Whatever his age may be, Fury is still ready to take on anyone and prove this “old man” has a lot of life left in him.
