J-Law is bringing out the raunch this summer with the release of the coming-of-age romantic comedy No Hard Feelings! Academy-Award winning actress Jennifer Lawrence (Don’t Look Up) is letting loose as the 32-year old Maddie Barker alongside newcomer Andrew Barth Feldman (A Tourist’s Guide to Love) who plays high school senior, Percy.

The film takes place in New York where Barker, a cash-strapped Uber driver who’s facing financial ruin after her car is impounded. Desperate for a new source of income, she begins stumbles upon an unusual gig created by two parents who want Percy, their introverted and sexually-inexperienced son to ‘date’ a woman to prepare him for college. Stunt marketing tactics for the film were done such as billboards  reading “Need A Car? ‘Date’ Our Son” were released across the United States which tied directly into the premise of the film. If you caught any of these yourself, let us know down in the comments!

The film is produced by Columbia Pictures, Saks Picture Company, Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment and Lawrence through her production company, Excellent Cadaver. Sony Pictures Releasing acquired distribution rights.

Now that kids are out of school, you may be seeking a summer release to spend time with the whole family, but is this movie safe for kids to watch? Read on to find out!

Why is No Hard Feelings rated R?

The MPAA gave No Hard Feelings a R rating. This means that the film includes sexual content,  language, and crude humor. The film also includes some violence but seems to mostly be done for comedic purposes. There is a lot of provocative language in this film. Not to mention, the title is even a play on words  for something sexual.

This sounds like a good film to go see late night with friends but it’s definitely a decision that parents and guardians have to make when it comes to their young ones so it’s important to be mindful of the ‘R’ rating.
