The Bold and the Beautiful recap (June 23): Liam kisses Steffy

Bellas, the table is shaking. Friday’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful let us in on Liam’s reaction to seeing his wife, Hope, kissing his rival, Thomas, and it was not pretty.

But, before you go thinking that he went over there and gave the both of them a piece of his mind, let me disavow you of that belief. Liam instead stood there and watched as the two kissed only for the knife to be twisted deeper when Hope went in for another kiss with her lead designer.

What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful today?

Devastated, Liam walked away, leaving the pair unaware that they’d been caught in an intimate moment in front of the picturesque Colosseum. In fact, their day in the city didn’t end there. They continued walking the streets of Rome, Hope even laced her fingers with Thomas, strolling with him like they were a couple taking in the sights together.

Thomas and Hope got a table at a local cafe and rested for a short time so they could toast to their success. As usual, Thomas showered Hope with praise, but she reminded him that they’re sharing in this victory for Hope for the Future together and toasted to their triumph as well as his. When they went to leave, they were stopped by a pair of Hope’s fans who asked for a picture. Thomas took it for them and then suggested that he and Hope head back out as she gazed up at him.

Liam kisses Steffy in Rome

Elsewhere, Liam found himself on the same rooftop as Steffy. She’d just been talking to Carter who let her know that Ridge had gone running off after peering through the Aventine Keyhole. Ridge hadn’t said where he was going, Carter only knew that his best friend was moved by what he’d seen through the keyhole. Judging by Steffy’s face, it looked like she had some clue that it had to do with Brooke regardless of the fact that her father hadn’t talked to her about it.

When she spotted Liam, however, what Ridge was up to was far from her mind. Steffy was shocked to learn that Liam’s search for Hope ended with him finding his wife in Thomas’ arms. At first, Steffy thought this was Thomas’ doing, but Liam corrected her. He told her that she’d been right, he’d been spending so much time thinking Thomas would be the one to interfere with his marriage, when it was really Hope that he should have been concerned about.

He said that Hope kissed Thomas even though she’s aware that the only thing that could break their marriage is her bond with his nemesis. It was obvious that Steffy was hurting for Liam while he spoke and began to break down. The two embraced as Liam sobbed that he’d made a mistake. Initially, the hug was platonic but when they pulled back, their foreheads brushed and the tension rose which surprised Steffy and then Liam kissed her.

The kiss was nothing like Hope and Thomas’ as it was a press of lips, intimate and close, but not passionate. It seemed to be born from Liam’s pain and when they pulled back Steffy looked confused and Liam looked like he knew he made a mistake.

Ridge chooses Brooke in Rome

The only kiss on today’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful that’s not a threat to anyone’s marriage was between Ridge and Brooke. After running through a beautiful garden, even trespassing on property he wasn’t supposed to be on, Ridge found Brooke at the destination he saw her in through the keyhole.

Fully believing in eternal love and destiny, Ridge declared that he wanted to be with Brooke. Or should I say his Logan? Elated, Brooke asked him to call her that again. She’s been waiting for him to refer to her in that way for awhile and now that he finally has, it’s also come with a request that she be his Logan forever. Of course, Brooke happily accepted. While this doesn’t necessarily mean wedding bells will be ringing for these two once again, none of us should be surprised if they do exchange vows soon.

We do know, however, how Taylor will feel about that news. She spent the episode talking to Finn about Brooke’s lack of accountability when it comes to dissolution of their friendship. Taylor also tried to get some information about what Ridge has been up to in Rome, but Finn didn’t have any to share. He’d been in touch with Steffy, but she hadn’t mentioned anything about Bridge’s activities.

It was nice seeing Taylor get to vent with her son-in-law, which he cutely referred to as their therapy session for the day. He was thankful that she’s been helping him with the kids since he’s also had to get to work at points and it’s been a struggle. It’s through Finn that Taylor now knows that Liam went to Rome to see Hope, so as you can certainly note, the Thope kiss is about to have some serious repercussions. We’ll have to see if the Steam kiss will as well.
