Roseanne spin-off series The Conners has been a great addition to have on our Wednesday nights, and we can’t wait for season 6 to make its debut on ABC! Is it going to be the last season though?

The sitcom stars John Goodman as Dan, Laurie Metcalf as Jackie, Sara Gilbert as Darlene, Lecy Goranson as Becky, Emma Kenney as Harris, Ames McNamara as Mark, Jayden Rey as Mary, and Jay R. Ferguson as Ben Olinsky.

In the season 5 finale, “The Grad Finale,” Mark is ready to graduate high school and can only invite three people. One of those he wants there is his absent father. Darlene gets a bit upset as she believes his step-dad Ben has been a better father than David. Eventually, Mark realizes this and rescinds his invitation to David. Mark and Louise decided on a family graduation ceremony for Dan, Becky, Jackie, and Harris since they either had some not so great ceremonies or got a GED.

We know a sixth season is coming as the network announced the news in May 2023. But is this going to be the final one? We’ve got the answer for you below!

Is The Conners season 6 the final season?

At the time of this writing on June 28, 2023, ABC has not confirmed whether The Conners season 6 is the last season or not. However patriarch of the family, John Goodman who plays Dan Conner, recently hinted in an interview with France 24 that season 6 could be the last season. Here’s what he told the news outlet:

"I think we may be coming to an end on it, I’m not sure. It’s lasted longer than I thought we would. It was just supposed to be like an eight [episode] show and out thing at one point. But they picked us up again, and they keep picking us up."

According to TVLine, season 5 brought in a total of around 5 million viewers across the season. Compared to the five other sitcoms on ABC, The Conners holds the No. 1 spot in total audience views. It’s no secret that the show is popular and that it’s definitely a sitcom we want to see continue as long as there’s a good story and the actors are up for it!
