My Happy Marriage is primed to be anime fans’ new obsession when it releases on Netflix in July. The series, adapted from the light novel by Akumi Agitogi, follows the life of Miyo Saimori, a young woman whose family intends on marrying her off to a military captain who is rumored to be cruel. Unfortunately, she thinks she’ll be moving from one cold house to another.
See, Miyo has been treated poorly by her family for as long as she can remember. She’s the product of a loveless, arranged marriage who was shunted into a servant-like position in the household when her mother died and her father moved in his lover and her daughter, Kaya.
Unlike Miyo, Kaya has inherited psychic abilities which has cemented her place as the cherished daughter while her sibling is considered not to be worth the space she takes up. Thankfully, this marriage is being arranged because, despite what’s been rumored about him, the captain is a kind man and Miyo is about to discover a happiness she’s never had before. Such joy will unlock who she really is and her powers.

What time does My Happy Marriage release on Netflix?
Typically, new series premiere at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT on the streamer. However, because the anime is being simulcast on Netflix while it broadcasts in Japan at 11:30 p.m., subscribers should be able to watch the series starting Wednesday, July 5 at 10:30 a.m. ET/7:30 a.m. PT.
