The Bear characters that definitely won’t be back in season 3

The Bear season 3 hasn’t been greenlit yet but given how popular the series has become since its premiere last June, we’re pretty much betting that FX’s hit show will be returning to Hulu for another installment. As such we’ve got our mind on the cast.

We expect The Bear‘s series regulars and supporting cast will be back along with Jon Bernthal as Michael ‘Mikey’ Berzatto, Jamie Lee Curtis as Donna Berzatto, Robert Townsend as Emmanuel Adamu, Gillian Jacobs as Tiffany Jerimovich and Chris Witaske as Pete. However, there were plenty of guest stars who made an impact in season 2. Will they be back? Here’s what we know!

The Bear season 3 cast: Who won’t be in the season?

Will Olivia Coleman be in The Bear season 3?

Coleman’s addition to the series as Chef Terry left quite the impression on viewers considering she featured in “Forks,” a life changing episode for the character Richie. Not only did we learn where ‘every second counts’ comes from as a mantra, we also learned where Carmy and Luca were taught precision and offering a dining environment that excelled in service and making the clientele feel appreciated and taken care of. Her role, however, seems very much married to that episode and there’s no expectation that she’ll be returning for a season 3.

Will Will Poulter be in The Bear season 3?

While we’d love to see Chef Luca again, his place seems to be in Copenhagen. While it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Will Poulter could cameo once more it isn’t likely to be in the show’s third season.

Will Bob Odenkirk be in The Bear season 3?

Uncle Lee was an absolute toxic mess who seemed to serve solely as an antagonist to Mikey. With the eldest Berzatto sibling no longer alive, the likelihood of Lee being featured in upcoming episodes is incredibly low.

Will Sarah Paulson be in The Bear season 3?

Paulson’s character, Cousin Michelle, left Chicago and only seems to return for the holidays. She spends time with her family and then heads back to New York City where it’s not as chaotic. Unless Carmy decides to pay a visit to the Big Apple, or invites her to The Bear’s grand opening, Cousin Michelle most likely won’t be making a return to the series.

Will John Mulaney be in The Bear season 3?

Mulaney played Stevie, cousin Michelle’s boyfriend, in the flashback episode “Fishes” in season 2. As his character notes around the dinner table, he’s only around during Christmas, but he loves coming to spend the holidays with the Berzattos because they’re a family (as messed up as they are) and they always welcome him into their festivities like he’s one of their own. Due to Stevie only making an appearance during the holidays, we aren’t likely to see him in season 3 unless the show decides to pull together another Christmas episode post-Mikey’s death.

Will Molly Gordon be in The Bear season 3?

Gordon’s character, Claire, was Carmy’s love interest in season 2, however, their relationship blew up in the finale. While the actress could make a return for another season, it’s also possible that she might not considering Carmy seemed sincere when he said he wasn’t cut out for a relationship and felt like he was wasting his time. Granted, he didn’t know she could hear him so their romance may not be over if he can explain why he said what he did. So, while we can’t rule Gordon out of next season’s cast, we can’t say definitively that she’ll be back either.
