Greta Gerwig’s Barbie is in theaters this Friday, July 21. The Barbie movie cast features crazy-talented actors. The star-studded cast includes Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera, and many others. If you missed a cast announcement or two, we have all the names for you, below!
Set to be the biggest movie of the summer, Barbie takes audiences to Barbieland, where the iconic dolls rule all and look fabulous doing it! Barbieland is the perfect place to be and stay forever and ever. That is, until you have an unexpected existential crisis, which sends our favorite Mattel doll on a wild and colorful journey.
The movie is rated PG-13 for some suggestive references and brief language. Having watched the Greta Gerwig feature already, I can share that the suggestive references and language will go right over children’s heads. If you want to take your Barbie-loving kiddo to this movie, definitely do so. The target audience are women of all ages, but only young teens and up will understand the movie’s message.
A lot of big names are attached to this movie, so you may not have kept up with them all. Or, if you’re like me, you purposely didn’t keep up with cast announcements (after the main cast became official) because you wanted to be surprised. Either way, meet every Barbie, Ken, and human, who star in the movie.
Who is Margot Robbie in Barbie?
Margot Robbie takes the lead as the iconic blonde doll, also known as (at least in the movie) the Original Stereotypical Barbie.
Who is Ryan Gosling in Barbie?
Ryan Gosling brings Ken to life in the movie. Ken is known as Barbie’s love interest, but he’s a little more than that in Greta Gerwig’s feature.
Who is America Ferrera in the Barbie movie cast
America Ferrera portrays Gloria, a receptionist at Mattel with crazy (and depressing) hopes and dreams. Gloria plays a significant role in Barbie’s journey.
Who is Ariana Greenblatt in Barbie?
Ariana Greenblatt plays Sasha, Gloria’s (Ferrera) teen daughter. Sasha is rebellious and the last thing she wants is a hug.
Who is Rhea Perlman in Barbie?
Rhea Perlman is the loving, intelligent, and iconic Ruth Handler, the creator of Barbie and Ken.

As the promotional posters share, Simu Liu is “another Ken.” In fact, there are several variations of the Ken doll, but Liu plays Ken’s (Gosling) biggest rival, Ken. Liu’s Ken is one of my favorite characters (along with Weird Barbie and Writer/Journalist Barbie), he’s just so fun to watch and his rivalry with Ken (Gosling) is hilarious.

Who knew John Cena was in this movie? Not I. After the first cast announcements were made, I purposely stopped paying attention. I wanted to be surprised and there are no regrets. Seeing Cena pop out on the screen as Kenmaid was well worth it. Cena is Kenmaid, or correctly known as King Ocean King Ken Merman Doll, part of the Barbie Signature collection.
Who is Dua Lipa in Barbie?

The crazy talented award-winning costume designer, Ann Roth, plays an unnamed woman who meets Barbie. Roth’s character and Barbie (Robbie) share a beautiful and powerful scene in the movie that may be short, but impactful.
