NBC’s Found release date and everything we know

With many productions now on pause during the writers strike and the actors strike, there doesn’t seem to be many new shows coming our way anytime soon. The big networks like ABC, CBS, and NBC have filled their 2023 fall TV schedules with mostly reruns and reality shows. But, there’s actually some new ones coming out. One of them is NBC’s Found.

The series is created by co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer Nkechi Okoro Carroll Joining her in EP duties are co-showrunner Sonay Hoffman, Greg Berlanti Sarah Schechter, Lindsay Dunn, and Leigh Redman.

So what is it about? Who stars in the the freshman project? Here’s everything we know about the drama ahead of its release!

NBC’s Found release date

The show is part of NBC’s 2023 fall TV lineup. The network recently shared a revised schedule to accommodate the strikes. Found premieres Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.

How many episodes is in Found? (Where to watch Found)

The series has a total of 13 episodes. Episodes will air Tuesday nights on NBC, and then will also be available to stream the next day on Peacock. A subscription to the streaming service costs $5.99/month with ads or $11.99/month without ads.

Is NBC’s Found affected by the strikes?

The new missing persons drama isn’t affected by the strikes, and here’s why. Initially, the show was supposed to air in February 2023. Then, the network changed its mind and decided to push the production to the fall. This all happened before the unions went on strike, with the WGA doing so in May 2023 and SAG-AFTRA striking in July 2023. That means the series was already done filming and was ready to air in February. So NBC has been holding on to it since. That’s why all the episodes are complete and ready for the fall, unlike other projects.

What is Found about? (Found synopsis)

The drama is centered around Gabi Mosely, a former missing person herself who is now in PR and leads a crisis management team to look for missing people, per the synopsis. And since the team isn’t in law enforcement, they’re able to “find creative ways” to track down those missing. According to the show’s description, more than 600,000 people go missing in the U.S. every year. And more than half of those are people of color, “too easily neglected by the system.” That’s why Gabi’s team focuses their efforts on those who can sometimes be forgotten by the system. She believes every missing person deserves to be found, and she’ll do all that it takes to do so.

Also, Gabi is hiding a “dark secret of her own.” According to NBC, the main character was able to track down her own kidnapper, known as “Sir.” She’s holding him captive in her own basement and uses him to give her his “criminal expertise” on the cases she takes on.

Found cast

Shanola Hampton takes on the role of central character Gabi Mosely. The 46-year-old actress is best known for playing Veronica Fisher on Shameless, which aired on Showtime. She’s joined by Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Kelli Williams, and more in the main cast. Check out the full cast list below and their character descriptions shared by the network:

• Arlen Escarpeta as Zeke Wallace, a tech expert who was kidnapped as a child which resulted in him forming agoraphobia
• Karan Oberoi as Dhan Rana, an emotionally distant employee at times but he’s always determined to solve the cases
