We’re officially on the other side of the halfway point of the season after The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2 episode 5. Only a few episodes remain for the group to rally save their beloved house in Cousins Beach. Will they be able to pull it off?

“Love Fool” features narration from Jeremiah as we see some events from the past year unfold from his perspective, including how he reacted to Belly and Conrad’s relationship. It’s the perfect time to see things from Jeremiah’s point of view, especially as everything continues to change.

Where does The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2 episode 5 leave things between Belly, Jeremiah, and Conrad? Have they made any inroads on saving the house from Aunt Julia, or do they continue to lose the house to Susannah’s sister? Here’s the episode’s ending explained, along with a full list of songs from the episode.

Warning: Spoilers ahead from The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2 episode 5!

Who buys the house in The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2?

Picking up where episode 4 left off, the group reels in the wake of the realization that Aunt Julia completely emptied the house while they were at the boardwalk. Oddly, Julia doesn’t really have remorse that she’s left Conrad, Jeremiah, Belly, and their friends without a place to stay. She put their belongings in storage and intends to follow through with the sale, full steam ahead.

After Conrad and Julia tangle, Jeremiah takes them to the country club, where Cam uses his mother’s key card to get them inside to crash and forage for food in the kitchen. The night brings a lot of emotional upheaval as Jeremiah, the episode’s narrator, reflects on his feelings about Belly and Conrad being together for the past year. Skye daring Belly to kiss Jeremiah doesn’t help the tension either. (Spoiler alert: Belly and Jeremiah don’t kiss.)

When they wake up on the golf course the morning after, they return to the scene of the crime: What used to be their home. Conrad’s plan to get a judge involved with gaining access to his trust fund falls through when Aunt Julia announces that she’s accepted an offer on the house from a buyer. The end of episode 5 doesn’t reveal the buyer, or if it’s the woman Julia was speaking to. Could the buyer be someone we know who could possibly help save the day for the boys and Belly?
