The Bold and the Beautiful recap (July 31): Sheila saves Kelly!
By Sabrina Reed
Finn is about to be singing a tune that Steffy doesn’t want to hear thanks to Sheila’s quick action in Monday’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful. He was still oblivious to his stepdaughter Kelly’s distress at the top of the episode due to his back being turned and his preoccupation with the work call he took after he told Kelly to stay put–of course, she didn’t listen hence her nearly drowning in the Pacific Ocean.
If it weren’t for Sheila, that little girl would have had a far scarier time in the water than her already unsettling brief fight against the waves. Sheila tore after her, jumping in to pull her to shore and get her to safety. Finn, who couldn’t hear Kelly calling for his help due to his air pods, took notice when it could have been far too late to save his kid. By the time he turned around and got off the phone, Sheila had made it ashore with Kelly.
Shaken, Finn wrapped his daughter up in towels and checked in with her to see how she was doing. Thankfully, Kelly seemed to be alright. She was coughing a bit which had Finn concerned, he told her he’d be listening to her lungs once they got back to the house, but he was also immensely sorry for turning his back and not being there for her.
Kelly told him that it was okay because she saved her. The she in question being Sheila. Finn thanked Sheila and explained to Kelly that she’s his mother. I’m so sure that’s not going to go over well with Steffy who spent the episode fending off Liam’s assertive push that Finn can’t be trusted if he’s susceptible to Sheila.
What happened today on The Bold and the Beautiful?
If you were holding onto the edge of your seat wondering how Steffy and Liam are going to react to Kelly’s unplanned deep sea adventure with her step-grandmother coming to her rescue, sorry to disappoint that they still are none the wiser. While their daughter’s life was in peril, they were back at the Cliff House continuing to be at odds over Steffy’s unwillingness to immediately judge or confront Finn about the hug he shared with Sheila at the courthouse.
Liam’s of the mind that Finn cannot be trusted to do his duty and protect his family thanks to this new development but Steffy doesn’t want to jump to conclusions. He did, however, affirm to Steffy that this isn’t him trying to get in the middle of her marriage. His concern is her and Kelly’s safety. He’s going to protect them and if that means pushing about Finn, that’s what he’s going to do. Up until embracegate, Liam had no problem with Finn and Kelly spending time together. But now he can’t help but worry.
In a brief lull during their cyclical conversation, Steffy expressed how great of a father Liam is. He’s not so sure about that but he knows how important the bond between a daughter and her father is and much of that is predicated on a protective instinct. The pair also reminisced about Kelly’s birth and Liam said that Kelly looks like his mother, she’s also got an old soul.
Now that he’s with neither of his daughters’ mothers, he isn’t seeing either of them as much as he’d like but he loves them both. Steffy sympathized with him, but then the conversation moved right back to Finn and she had to tell Liam that Finn is her husband and she owes him the benefit of the doubt and time to explain to her what happened. Liam doesn’t think so but Steffy’s of the belief that there’s nothing that Sheila could do to win Finn to her side…if only she knew her nemesis just saved their daughter.
Ridge asks Brooke to marry him again
Brooke was also doing some reassuring of her own at Forrester Creations. As happy as she and Ridge are to be together, his mind is on his children when he’s not working on the couture line which features a beautiful gold dress that was being modeled on today’s episode.
Ridge still hasn’t spoken to Thomas about his situationship with Hope but that talk is sure to be coming. For now, he’s worried about Sheila. He and Brooke looked over the talking points that Katie prepared for their address to the press that Carter handed over. They also discussed Finn. Brooke’s sure that he’ll keep Steffy and the kids safe but, for some reason, Ridge wasn’t looking like he quite believed that even as Brooke was certain.
It’ll be interesting to see how he reacts when news of Kelly’s drowning rocks through the family. But, in the meantime, Ridge does plan on holding onto some joy for himself. He and Brooke shared fond thoughts about Rome and their time together there and, not wanting to waste time, he asked Brooke if they could tie the knot again. She said yes, so there could be a wedding or at least vows in our future soon…if these two aren’t waylaid by family drama. Brooke said they’re better together, we’ll see if that remains true.
Until next time, Bold fans. Stay beautiful!
