Blue Bloods season 14 is not coming to CBS in 2023

While fans will be thrilled to know Blue Bloods season 14 will be happening, we won’t be getting new episodes anytime soon. However, based on the revised CBS schedule for the 2023-2024 television season, you won’t have to be without any episodes of Blue Bloods while we wait for season 14.

Blue Bloods was one of the shows that was renewed later than the rest of the CBS shows that were due to be released for fall 2023. This was after the actors on the show agreed to a pay cut so the show could continue.

However, due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, the new season is not coming anytime soon. The strike has continued well into the summer with no end in sight. Negotiations between SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP broke down after an agreement could not be reached in regards to writer’s receiving fair pay when it came to streaming residuals, among many other proposals that were made.

When will Blue Bloods season 14 premiere?

Since the strike is still ongoing, no work has been done on scripts for Blue Bloods season 14. So even though there is still a chance production on the show could resume later in the year depending on when the strike reaches a resolution, filming would still need to take place before new episodes air.

So we could be looking at a midseason premiere date for Blue Bloods season 14. However, CBS does have Blue Bloods reruns slated to air during the show’s typical time slot for Fridays. If new episodes do air, it will likely be with less episodes than the normal 20-22 episodes that air per season.
