We’re definitely ready to see the return of Cedric the Entertainer, Max Greenfield, Sheaun McKinney, and more cast members from The Neighborhood! We were hoping to get the show back in fall 2023, but that’s not going to be the case. The comedy isn’t even going to come back this year. Why isn’t The Neighborhood season 6 coming to CBS in 2023?

The series was renewed for a sixth season back in January 2023, months before the season 5 finale aired in May. This was amazing news and really shows how confident the network is in the comedy. And I can’t say we were surprised.

What might be surprising to some of you is the fact that a new season isn’t coming this year. Why is that the case and when could we expect the next chapter of the story to come back? We’ve got the answer for you below.

Why isn’t The Neighborhood season 6 coming to CBS in 2023?

The Neighborhood season 6 is not coming to CBS in 2023 because of the strikes affecting Hollywood right now. The writers strike began on May 2, 2023 and then the actors union went on strike on July 14. Since then, productions have shut down and have been on pause since no writers or actors are working. Production on the CBS sitcom is no different.

When is The Neighborhood season 6 coming out? (Release date predictions)

At this time, it’s difficult to say when The Neighborhood season 6 will be back. With how strikes work, there’s really no end date until things are resolved on both sides. The broadcast networks have been saying that shows originally intended to premiere in the fall 2023 television schedule are pushed to the midseason schedule for now, which is January-March 2024. So that could be a potential release window for season 6.

On Aug. 4, 2023, the writers union and the AMPTP who represents the studios had a meeting. They didn’t come to an agreement, but the AMPTP said they will talk to their studios before possibly meeting again. So now we wait and see. But no update has been given regarding the actors.
