The Equalizer franchise has three movies and an ’80s series. And then in 2021, CBS brought a second reboot to us fans starring Queen Latifah, Tory Kittles, Adam Goldberg, and more! Three seasons in, and we still haven’t gotten enough. That’s why we’re so happy The Equalizer season 4 is happening. But, it’s not coming this year.

CBS gave the crime drama a season 3 and 4 renewal back in 2022. So we’ve known for a while now that the fourth season is happening! And with the third installment having come to an end all the way back in May 2022, we’re impatiently waiting for more. Unfortunately, the wait is going to continue.

Why isn’t The Equalizer season 4 coming to CBS in 2023?

The Equalizer season 4 is not coming to CBS in 2023 because production on the show has been delayed. The writers strike and actors strike affecting all of Hollywood right now has also caused filming to probably not even begin on the series. If we had to take a guess, I think some scripts have been written since the fourth season was renewed all the way back in 2022. But because the actors union is on strike, obviously no filming can happen.

When is The Equalizer season 4 coming out? (Release date predictions)

Right now the strikes are still going on, so it’s very hard to say when The Equalizer season 4 is coming out. Initially, the crime drama was supposed to hold the Sunday night timeslot at 9 p.m. ET in CBS’ fall 2023 television schedule. However, now studios have pushed their originally intended fall TV shows to the midseason schedule. This could be anytime between January-March 2024. So it’s possible we’ll get the next chapter of the story then.
