Chuck Lorre is one of the creative geniuses behind The Big Bang Theory, and in 2019 he came back with another great sitcom. That’s Bob Hearts Abishola! He co-created the series with Eddie Gorodetsky, Al Higgins, and Gina Yashere. So what’s the latest update with Bob Hearts Abishola season 5?

The show was renewed for a fifth season in January 2023, which was months before the season 4 finale aired in May of that year. So we’ve known for a while now that season 5 was a go! The bad news is that we’re not getting it this year.

Why isn’t Bob Hearts Abishola season 5 coming to CBS in 2023?

Bob Hearts Abishola season 5 is not coming to CBS in 2023 for two reasons. Those would be the writers strike, which has been going on since May 2, 2023, as well as the actors strike which started on July 14, 2023. With both unions not working, that means no scripts are being written and of course no filming is happening. So, that has delayed the premiere date of the sitcom’s fifth season.

When is Bob Hearts Abishola season 5 coming out? (Release date predictions)

At the moment, we don’t have a premiere date for Bob Hearts Abishola season 5. At first, the series was supposed to air on CBS Monday nights at 8:30 p.m. ET. This was revealed in the network’s first fall 2023 schedule. However due to the strikes, the company had to revise the fall schedule and so most of the scripted shows have been pushed.

CBS did not provide premiere dates for any of its scripted shows yet. However, most of the big studios are hoping for a debut in the midseason schedule. In the television world, that would be sometime in January-March 2024. It is a possibility if the writers union and AMPTP (who represents the big studios) come to an agreement soon. The WGA is currently reviewing the AMPTP’s most recent proposal. However, no update has come from the actors’ union at this time.
