After what have been a few rather uneventful weeks in the Big Brother house, things finally began to get interesting again on Sunday night in the wake of Cameron’s Head of Household win.

While Cameron assured everyone he spoke with throughout the episode leading up to the night’s nominations that he was going to play it safe and target Jag and Blue (again), that couldn’t have been further from the truth. At the nomination ceremony, Cameron shocked the house when he decided to nominate Izzy and Felicia for eviction taking a clear shot at his former “alliance” members.

Following the unexpected nominations, it’s going to get interesting in the Big Brother house as there’s no telling how the house is going to react to his actions — especially his nominees.

What time is Big Brother on tonight? (September 13, 2023)

Tonight’s new Big Brother will begin at 8/7c on CBS, kicking off the network’s primetime lineup. Thankfully, there shouldn’t be any delayed start for tonight’s episode as there is no special programming or sports to delay the episode. This means fans can settle in at 8 p.m. ET and expect the episode to kick off at the top of the hour.

In a surprising scheduling move, tonight’s Big Brother episode will be two hours long with CBS rolling out an extended episode this Wednesday night. That’s right, tonight’s new episode will be an extended episode meaning you’re going to need to set aside an extra hour of your time to enjoy the episode.

The episode will begin at 8 p.m. ET and will run for two hours, ending at 10 p.m. ET. So why exactly has CBS planned an extended episode tonight?

Why is Big Brother two hours tonight? (September 13, 2023)

Extended episodes of Big Brother are typically reserved for season premieres, season finales, and double (or triple) eviction episodes. Tonight’s episode does not fall under any of these categories and CBS has surprisingly not revealed much about the episode aside from that it will feature a guest appearance from Josh Duhamel, host of CBS’s upcoming Buddy Games, who will be hosting the week’s Power of Veto competition.

If there were ever a week for an extended episode, this week definitely makes sense as Cameron has flipped the house upside down with his nominations. No one was expecting Izzy and Felicia to go up on the block, so there is sure to be a lot of fallout following the nominations and Veto ceremony.

For the first time in a while, we head into the POV comp unaware of who might be the target should either nominee come off the block or even who the house will target if noms do stay the same. This should lead to an interesting episode and could explain why CBS is rolling out a two-hour episode.

There is also the chance the episode could throw a surprise or two our way, after all, host Julie Chen Moonves did tease a big reveal connected to the Jury coming on Thursday. Perhaps tonight’s episode will set that reveal up? Or maybe we’re just in for two-hours of drama. Either way, we should be in for an exciting episode!
