Foundation season 3: Is the Apple TV+ series getting a third season?

We don’t want to spoil anything for you Foundation fans. But all we’ll say is that the season 2 finale definitely delivered and left us wanting more story! With the last episode of the second season now streaming on Apple TV+, you’re probably wondering if a Foundation season 3 is happening.

The show stars Jared Harris as Hari Seldon, Lee Pace as Brother Day, Lou Llobell as Gaal Dornick,
Leah Harvey as Salvor Hardin, Laura Birn as Eto Demerzel, and Terrence Mann as Brother Dusk. The sci-fi series was renewed for a second season just a few weeks after the first premiered.

Foundation season 3: Is the Apple TV+ series getting a third season?

At the time of this writing on Sept. 15, 2023, Foundation has not been renewed or canceled yet. That means we’ll have to wait for Apple TV+ to share an official announcement on whether the show is coming back for a third season.

While the streamer previously announced a renewal early on when it came to season 2, this time it seems like the company is going to wait a little longer. This does make sense as the writers strike and the actors strike are still going on. The strikes are definitely two big factors for networks to consider when renewing a project.

Though when it comes to story, there’s still plenty of material for the show to pull from. The sci-fi series is loosely based on a book series of the same name by author Isaac Asimov. The original stories are part of a trilogy, with a number of prequels and sequels in the universe as well. Hopefully we’re not left waiting too long and get an answer on whether another season is happening.
