Throw a couple more burgers on the grill this summer to celebrate the return of dynamic burger-flipping duo Dexter and Ed! The 90s teen comedy film Good Burger is getting the sizzling sequel, Good Burger 2, in just a few months!

Good Burger starred actors and sketch comedians Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, two teenagers who work at a greasy yet established burger joint, Good Burger. The film was written by Dan Schneider, Kevin Kopelow, and Heath Seifert, produced by Nickelodeon Movies, and distributed theatrically by Paramount Pictures. It premiered in July 1997 to commercially successful acclaim, grossing $23.7 million against a budget of $8.5 million. Now, since it’s July 2023, it’s the perfect time to give you more information about the upcoming second film to prepare you for its release!

UPDATED SEPT. 19: We have a release date, folks! Good Burger 2 drops on Nov. 22 only on Paramount+, Deadline reports.

The film was originally confirmed back in March 2023 with Thompson and Mitchell appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to allow some early promotion for it. Now, Good Burger 2 is slated to be released on an unconfirmed date in November 2023 on the streaming service Paramount+. This may change due to the ongoing double-strike and the film is not expected to have a theatrical run but that too, could possibly change in the near future. Stay tuned!

Good Burger 2 cast

Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell will be returning to the franchise as Dexter and Ed, respectively. Josh Server will return as Fizz, one of the drive-thru employee of Good Burger and Lori Beth Denberg will return as Connie Muldoon, a customer. Server and Denberg were also cast members on the Nickelodeon show, All That alongside Thompson and Mitchell. Carmen Electra is also set to return as Roxanne. While a majority of the other supporting cast members from the first film are not expected to make appearances, some new characters have been added to the Good Burger universe including comedians Jillian Bell as Katt Boswell, the CEO of MegaCorp and Lil Rel Howery as Cecil McNevin, a lawyer for the corporation MegaCorp.

According to Variety, the movie takes place twenty-six years after the events of the first film, inventor Dexter Reed reunites with his co-worker Ed at his old workplace, Good Burger.

Good Burger 2 trailer

As of July 2023, no trailer has been released for the upcoming Good Burger 2 movie and there’s no word on when the trailer will be made available to the public. You’re going to have to wait awhile for that to pop up, but when it does, Hidden Remote will have it ready for you to view right here!

Good Burger 2 will join the growing collection of original Paramount+ movie programming based off of existing intellectual property including The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe, Blue’s Big City Adventure, Teen Wolf: The Movie, and the upcoming Zoey 102.
