Dancing with the Stars season 32 is here! The highly anticipated return of the celebrity dance competition series has fans clamoring for information about this year’s stars. Among the cast this season is Xochitl Gomez, an actress Marvel fans know well and hope to see more of in the franchise’s cinematic universe.
Gomez isn’t a contestant who was trained in various styles of dance, but she does know how to bust-a-move as she’s danced with co-stars, friends, and family throughout the years. However, don’t count her out of the running for the mirror ball! She’s trained in martial arts since she was a 11 years old which means she has the stamina and spatial awareness necessary to go far in this competition. Where do you know Dancing with the Stars’ Xochitl Gomez from?
Xochitl Gomez is best known for playing America Chavez in the 2022 MCU film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The popular Marvel character, whose alter ego is Miss America, is from the Utopian Parallel in the movies. She can travel the multiverse and has superhuman strength. America is also an LGBTQ+ icon in the comics world as she was raised by two mothers and identifies as a lesbian.
Prior to her introduction into the MCU, Gomez was known for her work on Netflix‘s The Baby-Sitters Club reboot series. She was the original Dawn Schafer, an environmentalist and child of divorce who split her time between Stoneybrook with her mother and Los Angeles with her father and his partner.

Gomez, who is the youngest contestant on Dancing with the Stars this year, is 17 years old. Her birthday is April 29, 2006. She’s three years older than fellow actress Willow Shields, the youngest DWTS contestant ever, who was 14 at the time that she competed in season 20.
If Gomez were to win season 32, she’d be the second youngest contestant to walk away with the victory. Gymnast Laurie Hernandez holds the title as the youngest star to win DWTS. She was 16 at the time and partnered with Val Chmerkovsky.

Who is Xochitl Gomez’s dance partner on DWTS?
Xochitl Gomez has been paired with Val Chmerkovsky, a pro dancer on Dancing with the Stars who made his first appearance in 2006 as a student during the show’s second season. He, however, didn’t begin competing as a pro until 2013.
Chmerkovsky is 37 years old. His birthday is March 24, 1986. He’s won the competition twice: Season 20 with Rumor Willis and, as mentioned above, season 23 with Laurie Hernandez. The professional dancer is the brother of former DWTS pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovsky. Also, he’s married to fellow pro Jenna Johnson, the two share a son who was born in January 2023.
