We got an update on Eric’s health on The Bold and the Beautiful today and his situation isn’t looking good. According to Dr. Colin Colby, Eric either has some kind of cerebrovascular disease–defined by the Cleveland Clinic as a condition that affects blood flow to the brain–like TIA (transient ischemic attack) which is another name for a ministroke. He informed Eric and Donna that he would need to run more test before could be sure.

Dr. Colby was troubled to hear that Eric’s condition, in terms of his hand, has been getting worse. Before he’d left the office, Eric wasn’t able to hold a pen long enough to sign a contract. Clearly something isn’t right, but the doctor didn’t have an immediate diagnosis much to Donna’s chagrin. She pushed to be able to do the tests now, but Dr. Colby told her that this was a process and his office would be in touch.

Once the doctor left, Donna launched into an emotional speech with Eric. She’d been under the impression that Eric might be dealing with arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome not something so life threatening as what Dr. Colby had posited. She told him that she knows he’s a prideful man but she’s going to be there for him every step of the way.

Donna didn’t appreciate being kept out of the loop, and she intends on making sure Eric sees the best doctors, gets on the best plan, and has whatever medicine he needs. She railed against how unfair this all was because he’s a world renowned artist and he shouldn’t be hindered this way, but she expressed that she loves him, she’s his person, and they’re partners so they’ll get through this together.

Eric was emotional over what Donna had to say, but he disagreed with her when it came to telling Ridge. She’s of the mind that they should put this stupid fashion showdown to bed so that his son and the rest of the family can be there for him but he doesn’t want to do that. Even if this is his last fashion show ever, Eric plans on continuing what he’s working on to prove to Ridge once and for all that he’s the master.

I’m with Donna on this. Eric doesn’t have anything to prove to anyone that he hasn’t already proven for decades. This persistence about the line could cost him his life, and I’m certainly not about that especially since he began coughing up blood as soon as Donna left the room. Someone needs to get Eric to understand this legacy line is not worth his life.

Luna opens up to RJ about her past on The Bold and the Beautiful

Meanwhile, back at Forrester Creations, RJ and Luna were still getting materials ready to take over to Eric’s for the line. RJ is carrying a lot of stress concerning his grandfather and, as he told Luna, as much as he wants to tell his dad what’s going on, he also wants to keep his word to Eric. I do wonder if he’d really stick to that conviction if he knew how serious his grandfather’s health condition really is.

Noticing that they were spending much of their time together only talking about him, RJ asked Luna to share something about herself like where she’s from. She was hesitant at first but settled on telling him that she’s from northern California and that she was raised by a single mother who had her young. Like her mom, Luna’s a free spirit but her aunt and grandfather aren’t like that at all; they’re ambitious. It sounded like that’s caused some kind of division since Luna is enamored with the bond RJ has with Eric.

Before the episode ended, Luna and RJ dabbled in a bit of light flirting so if she does have a blood connection to someone on The Bold and the Beautiful, it doesn’t look like it’s going to be him. Feel free to start getting invested in this pair because this may be RJ’s first romance as an adult on the soap.

Speaking of romance, Brooke and Ridge were admiring the latter’s latest design, modeled excellently by Big Brother winner Taylor Hale who’d appeared last year on the daytime program for the Hope for the Future fashion show. As she exited, Carter entered the room admiring the orange dress she was in before he brought his focus to Bridge.

He acknowledged that Ridge was bringing his A game and then asked if he felt he could beat Eric. Ridge does think he’s truly sending a spectacular vision down the runway but, as he told Brooke once they were alone again, he’s more concerned about his father and what’s going on with him. Aside from that, however, Bridge did their own share of flirting as Brooke suggested they play hooky and maybe go get a bite to eat or go home to their very empty house, hint hint wink wink.

I have a question for them both. When is the wedding happening? These two have been engaged for a hot minute now and ever since Brooke rejected Ridge’s offer to make her wedding gown, we’ve made no progress on that front. I don’t know what that says about their romantic status, if anything at all, but I’m beginning to wonder.

Until next time, Bold fans. Stay beautiful!
