Now that spooky season is upon us, it’s time to take out your jack-o-lanterns and watch the Disney Channel Original Movie, Halloweentown!
Halloweentown is a classic for those who grew up in the late ’90s. The film introduces us to Marnie, a 13-year old girl who finds out that her family comes from a lineage of witches to her mother Gwen’s chagrin. Marnie and her siblings, Dylan and Sophie, are then introduced to the world of Halloweentown by their grandmother, Agatha Cromwell. Kimberly J. Brown stars as Marnie Piper with Debbie Reynolds as Splendora Agatha “Aggie” Cromwell, Judith Hoag as Gwendolyn “Gwen” Piper, Joey Zimmerman as Dylan Piper, and Emily Roeske as Sophie Piper.
The TV movie ended up spawning a whole franchise for new audiences to enjoy with sequels including Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge (2001), Halloweentown High (2004), and Return to Halloweentown (2006). The movie was written by Paul Bernbaum, Jon Cooksey, Ali Matheson from a story by Bernbaum, directed by Duwayne Dunham (Twin Peaks), and produced by Singer-White Entertainment. Halloweentown first premiered on Disney Channel on Oct. 17, 1998.

- 10:30 am ET on Wednesday, Oct. 18
- 7 am ET on Sunday, Oct. 22
- 7 am ET on Saturday, Oct. 28.
You can also watch the movie on its home network, Disney Channel when it re-airs there on Oct. 31. If you’re someone who doesn’t do well with scheduled programming and prefer to watch it on your own time, you can stream the movie and its sequels on Disney+ right now!
