Yellowstone has been running steady on CBS since season 1’s premiere on the network Sunday, Sept. 17. But newcomers and longtime fans should expect a new airtime for season 1, episode 6, “The Remembering,” and a possible delay. This is due to an NFL double header scheduled ahead of CBS’ usual Sunday night coverage which could run over and a longer episode of 60 Minutes.

According to FanSided.com, most of the nation will be tuning into the Baltimore Ravens vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers at 1 p.m. ET before programming moves to the game between the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Minnesota Vikings at 4:25 p.m. 60 Minutes will begin airing at 7:30 p.m., if the game doesn’t runover so, yes, this does mean that Yellowstone won’t be airing at 8 p.m. like it has been since Sept. 24.

Yellowstone CBS airtime on Oct. 8, 2023

Yellowstone has an expected start time of 9 p.m. ET on Sunday, Oct. 8. This is due to 60 Minutes  running for 90 minutes instead of its usual allotted hour. The Associated Press, via FOX59, reports that six episodes of 60 Minutes this fall will have an extra 30 minutes added to their runtime. This will impact the Dutton family’s season 1 saga on CBS tonight but only in terms of how many episodes will air. “The Remembering” is the sole Yellowstone episode on the schedule.

The sixth episode, which establishes that we’re now in the back half of season 1 (it has a nine episode run), looks to be ramping up the plot. There’s a new threat to the Yellowstone and John. Considering the call Dan Jenkins made to Melody Prescott in episode 5, “Coming Home,” I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s wreaking havoc. Dan said he’s in an Armageddon level of mess, and she’s his fixer so let the games begin.

As for Jamie, his political campaign is going to be in full swing. Remember, he’s running for Attorney General so he can ensure the law bends in his father’s favor and, by extension, the Yellowstone’s legacy and place in Montana isn’t tampered with by outside forces. And, finally, someone is going to be taking Kayce to task for the messes he’s been leaving at his family’s doorstep. Rip has the privilege of doing so as he confronts the youngest of John’s children for the ways his murder-filled actions keep blowing back on everyone else who has to then bail him out.

If you’ve been looking forward to Yellowstone double features on CBS Sundays, you can anticipate a return to that airing format on Oct. 15 when season 1 episodes 7-8 will air. Episode 8, “The Unraveling, Pt. 1” is the first part of a two-part season finale.
