What time is Yellowstone tonight on CBS? (Oct. 22, 2023)

The Yellowstone season 1 finale, “The Unraveling: Pt. 2,” airs tonight on CBS. The series, however, won’t be rolling straight into its season 2 premiere as another 90 minute episode of 60 Minutes is set to air after the NFL Doubleheader scheduled to air today and this evening on the network. As such, Yellowstone won’t be airing at 8 p.m. ET, instead the season 1 finale will start at 9 p.m. ET.

Unfortunately, the synopsis for the episode is pretty vague. “With the walls closing in, John discovers which family and allies will stand with him and fight,” doesn’t give us much to go on when it comes to what to expect. However, we do know this finale seems ready to introduce an inflection point for the Duttons. Obviously, something has to give.

The family has stood in the way of change for years, working to protect the legacy that their ancestors established, a story whose beginnings are explored in the Paramount+ original series 1883. Chief Thomas Rainwater and Dan Jenkins are plotting to bring a day of reckoning to the doorstep of the Duttons but, given the series is on its fifth and final season, that’s not coming in season 1.

When does Yellowstone season 2 air on CBS?

CBS won’t be keeping network viewers of the series from getting back into the story. Yellowstone season 2, episode 1, “A Thundering,” premieres Sunday, Oct. 29 at 9 p.m. ET.

When we’re returned to the show, Kayce will be getting used to the new role he’s stepped into on the ranch. This does leave us wondering just what the state of his marriage is now that Monica knows the truth about what happened to her brother. Is he getting to see Tate? Or has he been cut off entirely?

Then, because John won’t be catching a break any time soon, the Dutton patriarch will be dealing with an article that threatens to expose him. We wonder if this has something to do with what happens in the finale or if it’s a collection of dirty deeds John’s done over the years. Meanwhile, Thomas will be pitching a new plan to the tribal council.
