"Al didn’t receive a chair turn on Season 23, and now, he’s ready for a self-proclaimed “Boogie Comeback Tour.” Al wasn’t expecting the rejection last season to hurt the way it did. When he returned to Louisiana, he turned to comfort food, sweets and alcohol to ease the pain. By Christmas, he had packed on quite a few pounds. It was a wake-up call and with the help of his wife, Stacey, he started dieting and exercising. He’s down 55 pounds and says it’s not only improving his mental and physical health but his singing too. To prepare for this season, Al has been trying to gig as much as possible, performing both solo and with his band, Ole Whiskey Revival. In the back of his mind, Al’s family is always there, but this time he’s going to lead with confidence."

"Alexa grew up in a musical family, and her dad’s passion for collecting vintage guitars inspired Alexa’s love for acoustic stringed instruments, which led to her playing guitar and octave mandolin. Alexa’s deep love for the Americana music scene came when she saw the Wailin’ Jennys perform at a festival when she was 17. Life came full circle when a member of that band sang harmonies on Alexa’s debut EP in 2018. A few years later, Alexa began couch surfing and really wanted to experience life in a mobile home/touring vehicle. A friend offered her his loaded-out van, and Alexa spent the following months living out of it and traveling wherever her next gig would take her. She now lives in Colorado after the cold winter months had her saying goodbye to van life. She writes, gigs and teaches voice lessons."

"Born to two engineers, Alison stands out from the rest of the family. Her parents gifted her first guitar and she quickly learned to accompany herself. Before she knew it, she was gigging out all over the Detroit area and even ventured to Nashville and played at the famous Bluebird Café. By the time Alison was in sixth grade, she’d already opened with her original music for the Steve Miller Band in Detroit. At 14, Alison won a contest where she was awarded studio time, a producer and a booking agent. With this prize, she made her first EP and even started hearing her songs on the radio. However, she didn’t think music full-time was an option after high school, so she went to the University of Michigan for biopsychology, cognition and neuroscience. By her junior year, she started performing as much as she could via livestreams and gigging. Now, she’s lived in Los Angeles for over a year and has been gigging and recording nonstop."

Music was always a constant, no matter where Angelina traveled. Whether she was on vacation in Thailand or at school in Shanghai, she’d find a place to karaoke or an assembly to perform at. The biggest crowd she sang for was a cousin’s wedding of nearly 300 people. She recently graduated high school and has been accepted into Berklee College of Music and the University of Michigan."

Right out of college, Brailey moved to Music City. When she arrived in Nashville, Brailey hired a management team but soon realized her views didn’t align with theirs. She cut ties and was able to self-reflect and reevaluate her wants and goals. Since then, Brailey has purchased her own equipment, learned how to use Logic Pro, started writing with new people and released more music in the last two years than she did with a team for three years. She writes every day, gigs around Nashville and is in writer’s rounds doing her own songs. Her songs are typically about overcoming mental health challenges, not living to make other people happy and encouraging other people to live authentically."

Brandon even had the opportunity to sing the national anthem at the Staples Center for the L.A. Clippers. While in L.A., Brandon became deeply involved in the ballroom scene, which became a welcoming space for him to empower himself and express his creativity. While waiting to start law school, she randomly posted herself singing on social media and it caught the attention of a producer in Nashville. This led her to debut her first single on CMT, and finally, she was able to see a life for herself as a musician. Once in Nashville, Caitlin taught herself all the tools to market herself and be a successful businesswoman in the music industry. This led her to start her own music consulting company to help creatives build sustainable businesses. Currently, getting her company off the ground is her priority, but she continues to perform around town at writer’s rounds and works in the studio to produce her own music."

In 2021, he and DeAndrea decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue music. Soon after arriving, he performed in Kanye West’s Sunday Service at the Coliseum and with Alicia Keys’ choir at the Greek Theatre and Sofar Sounds. Now, Calla is focusing on her own music and released a music video and singles “Self-Sabotage” and “Solo,” both of which were recently played on the radio. Calla wants to not only release original music but also showcase her creativity through her brand. Never thinking that music was an option as a career, Chechi went to college to study medicine. However, when she decided she wanted to pursue music instead, the transition was tough, especially in Michigan. Finding her artistry took time, and her final push was when she opened for Brian McKnight, which motivated her to take the plunge. Now having been in Los Angeles for the past six years, Chechi has made a name for herself. This year she performed with Lizzo at the Grammys doing background vocals. She has also been in Kanye West’s Sunday Service Choir. She fully supports herself with music and has finally convinced her mom that music is what she’s meant to do."

About a year ago, Claire started uploading covers to social media, and her cover of Zach Bryan’s “Something in the Orange” garnered more than 1 million streams in the first few months. Since then, she’s been discovering her own sound and writing music about her life experiences. Outside of music, Claire is currently a sales rep for a medical software company and tries to gig one to two times a month at local venues during the day so she can devote her evenings to Cayson."

Growing up, Crystal used songwriting as a form of therapy. As a small child, Crystal overcame years of domestic violence, and it got so bad one time that she and her sister called the police for help. That night resulted in her mother spending weeks in the hospital but making a full recovery. Sadly, Crystal’s mother passed away five years ago from ovarian cancer but did have a chance to meet Crystal’s now 5-year-old daughter, Haven. Haven is the light of Crystal’s life, and she can’t imagine a world without her."

As a standby, Deejay arrives at the theater warmed up and ready for every performance, prepared to step in at any moment for a lead cast member. In high school, Eli had to learn to balance his many skills. He would do jazz band before school, run track after school, then do drumline – all while maintaining good enough grades for the National Honor Society. Eli is a Division I athlete at the University of Iowa for the cross-country track team. When Eli runs, he breathes to the rhythm of a song he’s listening to, sometimes lasting up to 16 miles. Now a senior in college, Eli has made the tough decision to not continue on the team so he can focus on music. He’s in a band, and they book gigs occasionally doing country covers. However, Eli hopes to focus on singing his own material, which is more singer-songwriter/pop."

She learned to play the violin, piano and guitar. At 12, Elizabeth began songwriting and developing her own unique sound. Elizabeth’s mom attended Belmont University up until her pregnancy with Elizabeth. When it was time for Elizabeth to attend college, her mom showed her Belmont’s campus. Soon after, Elizabeth attended and graduated from Belmont. She initially declared her major in songwriting, but now she hopes to land a publishing or record deal to release her own music. Ephraim’s favorite job, however, is waking up at 5:30 a.m. to make his kids breakfast or get donuts with them. Ephraim’s determination and grit to now pursue music has been shaped by his six-year run as an MMA fighter. He would often train six hours a day before a fight. He enjoys fighting, but knows it’s not who he is, so decided to take a step back to prioritize music."

Since 2022, Huntley has found success as a booking agent for musicians. Now that music is coming back into his life, he’s been a full-time musician gigging five times a week all over Virginia. Huntley is ready to make music a priority in his life after being a dad first."

"JaRae comes from a rich legacy of notable musicians. Her paternal grandfather, Cecil Womack, wrote Teddy Pendergrass’ hit “Love T.K.O.” and is half of the husband-wife duo Womack & Womack. The other half of the duo, his wife Linda Womack, is the daughter of R&B vocalist and civil rights activist Sam Cooke. JaRae was absent from her father, Cecil’s son, from a young age and had no contact with her Womack/Cooke family who had moved overseas. JaRae finally found them in 2010 when Cecil arrived back in the states. Cecil and JaRae had an immediate bond. After sharing with him how much she loved music, Cecil begged JaRae to pursue it, especially Latin music. In 2013, JaRae was signed to indie label SoBe Entertainment and performed throughout Florida. In 2016, she put her music career on hold to focus on being a mom, but music has always been in the back of her mind, and now she’s ready to make it a priority."

Jason started producing his own music when he was 14 and loved it, but he had to put it on the back burner when he was 17 when he and his high-school sweetheart became parents to their daughter, Oshynn. Being a teen parent was extremely difficult for him, and he struggled to get his music off the ground. When Oshynn was 5, Jason got full custody and moved Oshynn in with his parents. While Jason was working up to three jobs at one time, his mom helped him to raise Oshynn. Eventually, Jason started to make connections after getting a steady gig at his friend’s new bar. Now, he gigs constantly and supports his daughter on his musician salary alone. He performs at resorts, private events, brunches, weddings and more with his band, Jason Arcilla & the Rhythm Sons."

Never having any issue with social settings or performing, Jenna was stopped in her tracks when she suddenly struggled with anxiety and panic attacks during her sophomore year of high school. She could no longer perform or sing in public. This is when Jenna started expressing herself through writing songs, even when she couldn’t bring herself to sing in front of anyone. Over time, she slowly got better and now believes the experience made her both a better person and a more connected artist. Now, Jenna is writing and recording music, gigging out locally three to four times a week and has amassed almost 170,000 followers on TikTok."

She eventually was thrown a bone from a friend who owned a donut shop, and once she earned enough money, she moved to Nashville and secured a publishing deal. It wasn’t until about five years ago that she discovered she could pursue a career in singing as well. Jordan has only had one octave range due to a condition she was born with that affected her vocal cords. However, in recent years she’s been able to get vocal therapy and coaching to correct the problem and can now sing in a five-octave range. Jordan has opened for the Eli Young Band, Hunter Hayes, Craig Morgan and Luke Combs. Jordan has also written for former “Voice” winner Sundance Head, who has performed her music at the Grand Ole Opry and sent her single to No. 1 in Texas."

Keegan Ferrell, a Season 20 contestant, noticed her on social media when her original EP reached No. 9 on the the iTunes charts, prompting him to work with Julia to continue building a portfolio of original music. Their first song together, “Childhood,” garnered a massive amount of attention and has the most streams to date. The campaign turned out to be a national commercial, and Kara’s original song was showcased for the world to hear. Now, Kara works the nightshift as a caregiver for the elderly as well as individuals with developmental disabilities. After years of this, Laura’s parents were so concerned they pulled her from school and opted for homeschooling. After a year of homeschool and a fresh perspective, Laura was ready to enter public middle school. During that time, she thrived and began singing in theater. Unfortunately, high school presented new challenges as she moved to a new area. Laura struggled with self-image issues, which led to the development of an eating disorder. After several years and with the support of her family, Laura leaned into her faith for healing and later on sought out therapy. Thankfully, she’s healthy and happy now, and those experiences have fueled her songwriting. She began to compose songs as early as 14 and now shares her music as well as Christian-based content on social media."

His high-pitched voice was different, so he didn’t take singing seriously until a college friend helped him find his confidence. While living in Idaho after dropping out of college, Lennon reconnected with a childhood friend, Morgan. They got married and started a new chapter of their lives together in Phoenix. After moving, Lennon worked countless odd jobs to pay the bills before landing a job at a memory care facility with dementia patients. Today, Lennon is proud to be a full-time gigging musician. "Reid works full-time as a data analyst crunching numbers for Dollar General corporate. He and his wife, Rachel, have been married five years and met in his senior year of high school. They married young and Reid had to work three jobs while in college to support them. He felt he had to grow up quickly, and songwriting helped him work through what he was feeling. A couple years ago, they moved to Birmingham from Nashville so she could attend physical therapy school. Reid is from a tight-knit Italian family in Nashville, and the move was hard, but he still seeks solace in songwriting. He wrote his song “Dark Blue” about his struggles with mental health and the video gained more than 100,000 views in its first week. He and Rachel plan to move back to Nashville with their hope that Rachel will get a PT job in the city, Reid will become a touring artist and they can buy a home."

"Ruby is one of 68 people who live in a tiny town in Missouri. At just 4, Ruby and her parents survived a horrific tornado that nearly killed her parents. From that day on, Ruby struggled to be apart from them and she opted for homeschooling to stay close. At 9, she discovered her love of country music when she overheard her dad listening to Guy Clark’s “Dublin Blues.” Determined to learn the song, she had it memorized the next day. Her first competition was put on by St. Louis Cardinals player Adam Wainwright. She came in third place and has been hooked on a music career ever since. Ruby is an accomplished aspiring country star and has performed with Vince Gill, the Time Jumpers, Mickey Gilley and Johnny Lee as well as doing pre-shows for Clint Black and Tracy Lawrence. She also had the chance to sing on stage at a Lorrie Morgan concert."

"Rudi was born into a family who knew she was destined for music. Her grandfather passed away right before she was born, and her grandmother was convinced that Rudi was her grandfather reincarnated. Rudi’s grandfather was a talented Mariachi musician and the only other singer in the family. Rudi also loves mariachi and Spanish music, and it’s how she stays connected with her heritage. Rudi’s parents own a body shop where she and her four siblings work. Rudi has struggled to find her place at the shop and feels that she’s meant to be a performer. Her first performance was at age 2 when her mom handed her a mic at a kid’s expo and she sang “How Do I Live” by LeAnn Rimes. As a teenager, Rudi won a radio competition and performed a duet on stage with the band Boys Like Girls. Now, she’s writing a lot of her own music and wants to perform."

"After getting no chairs to turn in Season 23, Sophia is ready for her comeback. She gets her determined spirit from her mom, Hilda, who emerged from an impoverished upbringing in Mexico City, moving to the United States at 6. Hilda found her inspiration from her own mother’s resilience to adapt to a new country, and then to raise a child at such a young age gave her the insight and strength to push Sophia to take advantage of all the opportunities thrown her way. Sophia reflects on her mother’s journey with gratitude, recognizing that she can pursue her American dream due to her mother’s bravery, sacrifices and unwavering support. Now, despite her challenges with learning disabilities, Sophia is embarking on her second year at Chico State University, pursuing communication public affairs. She has garnered a substantial fan base from her experience on Season 23 and is often recognized as “The Voice girl.”"

In 2014, he formed his band and performed at weddings and other events. One of Stee’s biggest fans and supporters was his cousin, Matthew, who also wanted to be a singer, but struggled with diabetes, which physically prohibited him from living his dream. Matthew has encouraged Stee to audition for “The Voice” since 2013. Unfortunately, Stee never got the opportunity to tell Matthew he would be taking the stage because Matthew passed away in May, but Stee is excited to live out this journey in honor of Matthew."

After his grandpa passed away when he was 10, Talakai was repeatedly abused, ran away and found a shelter in Sacramento with the help of other individuals who were homeless. The shelter contacted child protective services, which began a long journey into foster care. After many years of potential forever homes, Talakai’s friend’s mom eventually adopted him. Around the same time, Talakai navigated his sexuality and dated a woman. While together, they had a son, Demani, but broke up after Talakai realized he was truly gay. He later met his husband, Alejandro, who also has kids from a previous marriage to a woman. They got married and blended their families. Focused on gratitude and healing, Talakai now works as a server by day and focuses on singing and songwriting at night. Having struggled with confidence for many years, Talakai has always dreamt of performing on a big stage and is honored to be a part of The Voice."
