If you’re tuning into tonight’s new Saturday Night Liveodds are you might find yourself wondering who the night’s SNL host is — and you’re not alone! When I saw NBC announce Nate Bargatze as the host of the October 28 episode of its long-running series I was puzzled and literally found myself asking who Bargatze was. Clearly, if you’re here reading this, I wasn’t alone in that question.

Nate Bargatze is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He was born on March 25, 1979, in Old Hickory, Tennessee, USA. Bargatze is known for his clean and observational style of comedy, often drawing from his personal experiences and everyday life for his humor. His material covers a wide range of topics, from family and marriage to social situations and his Southern upbringing.

Nate Bargatze has two comedy specials on Netflix

If you’re eager for more of Nate Bargatze after his SNL hosting debut this evening, you can turn to Netflix which is home to two comedy specials featuring Bargatze!

Bargatze’s first Netflix special, Nate Bargatze: The Tennessee Kiddebuted on Netflix in 2019 and features an hour-long runtime. Across the special, you can expect jokes on everything from travel, college football, and weddings, to chocolate milk and ordering coffee.

Two years later in 2021, Bargatze’s second Netflix stand-up special dropped with the release of Nate Bargatze: The Greatest Average American. In this special, Bargatze returns with yet another amazing comedy set that is sure to make you laugh so hard you cry.

Both specials are streaming on Netflix and you can also catch Bargatze in the first season of Netflix’s comedy series The Standups which is actually where he made his Netflix debut before releasing his first two specials!

Nate Bargatze’s latest standup special is streaming on Prime Video

While his first two standup specials streamed exclusively on Netflix, Bargatze’s latest standup special is a Prime Vidoe originalNate Bargatze: Hello World debuted this January on Prime Video, marking his first special with the streamer.

The special was filmed at Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, AZ, and much like his Netflix specials features a one-hour runtime making it the perfect watch after Saturday Night Live. Among the topics you can look forward to are the disadvantages of being the first born, the challenges of playing golf with your wife, and what happens when a bald eagle touches your head.

The Foo Fighters are tonight’s musical guests

While Bargatze will be making his Saturday Night Live debut this evening as the latest SNL host, the night’s musical guests are no strangers to the show. This evening the Foo Fighters will be making their way back to 30 Rockefeller Plaza to serve as Saturday Night Live‘s musical guest. The band will be performing tracks off their latest album “But Here We Are” which released and June.

The group is no stranger to appearing on SNL as tonight’s appearance will mark the band’s ninth time on the show as musical guest with their most recent appearance coming back in 2020. This will be the band’s first time back on the show since the loss of their drummer Taylor Hawkins, who sadly passed away in 2022. Josh Freese joined the group in May, meaning tonight will be his SNL debut with the group.
