Strictly Come Dancing 2023 is almost at its halfway point now. The beloved dancing competition series returned to BBC One in September to launch its 21st series, bringing in a whole new batch of celebrities to compete on the dancefloor.

Last week’s edition saw Eddie and Karen eliminated after a Dance-Off with Zara and Graziano. This past week also saw Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice withdraw from the competition, ending their Strictly journey. The ten remaining couples then took to the Dancefloor this week for the show’s Halloween spooktacular.

So what happened during the frightful night of dancing? Could Layton and Nikita top the Leaderboard for a third week running? Has MVP team Ellie and Vito managed to get the 10s they deserve? And did Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington solve the mystery of the Charleston?

*** This article contains spoilers from Strictly Week 6’s Saturday Night show. If you haven’t yet seen the Halloween special and don’t want the dances or scores spoiled for you, don’t read on! ***

Strictly spoilers and results: Week 6 Leaderboard

What a night of dancing and entertainment, Strictly Week 6 was! As the show’s length continues to decrease due to the smaller amount of couples that remain in the competition, even more focus is being placed on the dancing, with the judges paying more attention to the technique this week.

Ellie and Vito continued their momentum and finally managed to top the Leaderboard with a thrilling Salsa that made us all watch in awe. Layton and Nikita also stunned with a wicked Tango to “Vampire” by Olivia Rodrigo that saw them land second on the Leaderboard (though they held the top spot for most of the night).

The two Angelas also shined, as Angela Scanlon and Carlos Gu opened with the show with an outstanding Black Swan-themed Paso Doble, and Angela Rippon got to channel Jessica Fletcher in a joyous Murder, She Wrote-themed Charleston with Kai Widdrington.

Here are the results from the Strictly Week 6 Saturday night show, the scores, and the Leaderboard we were left with:

  • Ellie and Vito danced the Salsa – 9, 10, 10, 9 = 38
  • Layton and Nikita danced the Tango – 9, 9, 9, 9 = 36
  • Angela S and Carlos danced the Paso Doble – 8, 8, 8, 9 = 33
  • Angela R and Kai danced the Charleston – 9, 8, 8, 8 = 33
  • Adam and Luba danced the American Smooth – 7, 9, 8, 8 = 32
  • Bobby and Dianne danced the Cha Cha – 6, 9, 7, 8 = 30
  • Nigel and Katya danced the Cha Cha – 8, 7, 7, 8 = 30
  • Annabel and Johannes danced the Tango – 7, 7, 7, 8 = 29
  • Krishnan and Lauren danced the Viennese Waltz  – 6, 7, 6, 8 = 27
  • Zara and Graziano danced the Charleston – 6, 6, 6, 7 = 25

Who is in danger on Strictly Week 6?

Well now, this is going to be a very interesting week for Strictly Come Dancing. The Leaderboard is much smaller this week as there are two less couples, and there are two ties on it, meaning that it will be easier for the people at the bottom to escape the dreaded Dance-Off.

The couples at the top are more than likely safe this week as it’s still too early for them to fall into danger from the top, so allow us to be bold and say that Ellie, Layton, and the two Angelas are safe. Anyone from the middle downwards is in jeopardy of falling into the Dance-Off at this stage in the competition.

Right now, Zara and Graziano are at the bottom of the Leaderboard and that unfortunately means they are the most likely to fall into the Dance-Off. As for who joins them, it could be any one of the five couples above them, but all of them have proven popular with the public, so the voting this week might reveal a lot about where the couples are landing in the public vote.

Right now, we’re predicting Zara and Graziano and Krishnan and Lauren could find themselves in the Dance-Off. But with the ties, that could all change.

Updated, Sunday October 29: Zara and Graziano had to dance off against Adam Thomas and Luba Mushtuk in what might just be the biggest shock Dance-Off of the series, as Adam enjoyed a very successful night of dancing and had arguably his best performance yet. Nevertheless, the judges unanimously voted to save Adam and Luba, resulting in Zara and Graziano’s elimination from the competition.

Zara certainly improved throughout her Strictly journey and her joyous Charleston was one of her strongest yet. Watch it below:
