Season 2 focuses on the difference society placed in the 1800s when it comes to old money and new money. And that differentiation is going to cause a rivalry between Marian Brook and her aunts against George and Bertha Russell. Bertha is not only going to challenge Mrs. Astor and “the old system,” to get a higher standing in society, but she also has her eyes set on “potentially taking a leading role in it,” per the synopsis. And while the Brook’s will be focused on that, they have their own things to worry about as well. Like Marian continuing to secretly teach at a girls school, and Ada starting a new courtship.

The series stars Louisa Jacobson as Marian Brook; Christine Baranski as Agnes van Rhijn; Cynthia Nixon as Ada Brook; Carrie Coon as Bertha Russell; Morgan Spector as George Russell; Denée Benton as Peggy Scott; Blake Ritson as Oscar van Rhijn; Nathan Lane as Ward McAllister, and more.
