All you need to know about The Gilded Age season 2
What is the second season about?
The second season of the historical drama starts off on Easter morning of the year 1883. Marian is still trying to figure out a way to continue secretly teaching at a girls schools, while Ada “begins a new courtship,” which surprises everyone, per the synopsis. But Agnes doesn’t approve of what’s going on at home. Elsewhere, the Scott family works towards healing “from a shocking discovery,” and Peggy’s activism helps her in her work with T. Thomas Fortune at the NY Globe.
So that’s what’s happening with the characters we met in season 1. So what about the newcomers in season 2? Two important figures are Bertha and George Russell. According to the season’s description, it sounds like the husband and wife are what would be considered new money. As they try to climb their way to the top of society, that’s going to ruffle some feathers. Including Marian’s and her “old money aunts’.”
The first episode of The Gilded Age season 2, “You Don’t Even Like Opera,” the episode focuses on Agnes telling Ada, Marian, and Oscar that her nephew, Dashiell Montgomery, is arriving, per the synopsis. And Oscar “begins courting” Gladys again. Plus, Bertha “shuns” Mrs. Astor in her support of the Metropolitan Opera House.
