Invincible season 2 release schedule: When do new episodes come out?

Invincible is coming back to Prime Video this week! But when can you catch new episodes of this wild comic book animated series? Find out here!

Based on the hit comic book by Robert Kirkman (creator of The Walking Dead), Invincible is the story of Mark Grayson, the son of Omni-Man, his world’s greatest superhero. Mark is happy to finally gain his own powers of super strength, endurance and flight and takes on his own costumed identity.

However, Season 1 ended with Mark discovering the horrifying truth: His father was an advance agent for a planned invasion of his Viltrumite species to conquer Earth. He and Mark had a brutal fight with Omni-Man slaughtering hundreds of innocent people to “prove” to his son how weak humans were. Mark’s refusal to go with him seemed to break Omni-Man, who flew off into space.

So, Season 2 appears to set up Mark trying to move on from this, still learning to be a hero as the world recovers from Omni-Man’s actions and the hint that the rest of the Viltrumites are coming back with him.

That’s a thrilling setup, but when can you enjoy these episodes?

When do new episodes of Invincible come out?

The season is interesting as it is split into two parts, with the first four episodes airing starting in November. It then takes a break until early 2024.

It’s likely the production was affected by the strikes across Hollywood, and perhaps not all of the Season 2 episodes were concluded in time. Kirkman talked to TV Guide to make it sound like this was a natural way to split apart, given how intense Episode 4 will be.

"“When you see the episodes, Episode 4 of Season 2 is a very obvious midseason finale. People are going to need time to recover from that episode.”"

So, fans of the show will have to prepare for a short start to the season before a break until 2024.

The break may be annoying, but Kirkman hints that it works for the show and should make the thrills and tension of Invincible Season 2 even better for fans. Invincible season 2 premieres Friday, Nov. 3, on Prime Video.
