The Last of Us season 2 gets a disappointing release update

The first season of HBO’s The Last of Us wrapped earlier this year on March 12, 2023.  So, unlike Euphoria, it really hasn’t been too long. Still, there are typically 12-14 months between seasons, so The Last of Us should be jumping on things right now.  Instead, it’s been quiet.

In case you missed it, earlier this week, fans got a pretty disappointing update about when The Last of Us season 2 is coming out.

From the amazing and capable cast to the beautiful cinematography and jump scares, there’s so much to love about this show. The cast all get along and you can see this from the screen. Season 2, in particular, saw Sydney Sweeney and Alexa Demie whine in their roles.They all share incredible chemistry, which isn’t something you can say about every show.

HBO renewed the Pedro Pascal series for a second season, but you may want to hold tight! This is going to be a long and trying ride. Here’s what we’ve learned that you may have missed.

The latest The Last of Us season 2 update

As Variety reports, during a press event, HBO boss Casey Bloys shared that the second season of the wildly popular and hit-series The Last of Us, is confirmed to be coming in the year 2025. Fingers crossed that, at the very least, the season will premiere early 2025. But even so, we have over a year to go.

This series is not the only one that has been pushed back. In the same report, it was revealed that The White Lotus season 3, and Welcome to Derry have also all been confirmed for 2025. Hey, at the very least, it’s going to be a great year!
