Missed the 2023 CMA Awards? Here’s where to stream it online

According to TVLine, this year’s CMA Awards averaged 6.6 million viewers but, if you were had to skip the event and are now scrambling to find it online, we’ve got you! What you need to remember is that if a program airs on ABC, it’ll likely land on Hulu the following day. That is the case for the CMAs so get your blanket ready, a snack, and be prepared to get your life.

Now, of course, you’ll have to deal with the usual award show pablum. That’s par for the course. While Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning are a winning combination, we all tune into these events for two reasons. We want to see our faves win and hear their speeches, and we want enjoy the performances that make the night special.

The big winner of the 2023 ceremony was Lainey Wilson who walked away with Entertainer of the Year. She also took home Musical Event, Music Video, Female Vocalist, and Album of the Year. And she took to the stage for a fiery performance of “Wildflowers and Wildhorses.”

Tracy Chapman won Song of the Year for “Fast Car.” The 1988 single, which earned Chapman a Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, was introduced to a new generation of listeners thanks to Luke Combs’ cover, which also received the accolade for Single of the Year.

Chapman’s win is historic as she’s the first Black woman to be honored with the Song of the Year Award. She wasn’t able to attend the ceremony but according to American Songwriter, the following prepared statement was shared:

"“I’m sorry I couldn’t join you all tonight. It’s truly an honor for my song to be newly recognized after 35 years of its debut. Thank you to the CMAs and a special thanks to Luke and all of the fans of ‘Fast Car.’”"
