Mark your calendars, February 2024 is when CBS shows come back! (Return dates and timeslots)

“Pilot” – Max Thieriot stars as Bode Donovan, a young convict seeking redemption and a shortened prison sentence by joining a prison release firefighting program in Northern California where he and other inmates are partnered with elite firefighters to extinguish massive, unpredictable wildfires across the region. It’s a high-risk, high-reward assignment, and the heat is turned up when Bode is assigned to the program in his rural hometown, where he was once a golden all-American son until his troubles began. Five years ago, Bode burned down everything in his life, leaving town with a big secret. Now he’s back, with the rap sheet of a criminal and the audacity to believe in a chance for redemption with Cal Fire, on the series premiere of FIRE COUNTRY, Friday, Oct. 7 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+*. Series also stars Billy Burke, Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, Stephanie Arcila, Jordan Calloway and Jules Latimer. Pictured: Max Thieriot as Bode Donovan. CBS has beat the other networks to the punch! We can expect its returning shows, as well as two of its new originals, to premiere in February 2024.

Tracker will kick off the midseason schedule after Super Bowl LVII on Sunday, Feb. 11, introducing viewers to Justin Hartley’s Colter Shaw. Based on the novel The Never Game by Jeffery Deaver, the series will follow a survivalist with a lone-wolf mentality who helps law enforcement and private citizens solve mysteries. Colter is a reward seeker and a tracker who travels the country searching for new cases to investigate. He’s also a man who must contend with a fractured family of his own.

From there, it’ll be business as usual for CBS’ programming slate with exception to CSI: Vegas being moved to Sundays at 10 p.m. ET starting Sunday, Feb. 18 with its third season premiere. The Good Wife spin-off Elsbeth, starring Carrie Preston as Elsbeth Tascioni, which follows the lawyer after she’s left her successful career in Chicago for an investigative role in the Big Apple.  The series will premiere on Thursday, Feb. 29, an apt slot considering it’s Leap Day, an unconventional debut for an unconventional character.

Due to the impact of the Hollywood strikes on the schedule, fans can only count on 10-13 episodes for the network’s scripted programming. Deadline confirms that The Neighborhood and CSI: Vegas will consist of 10 episodes. The FBI shows will have 13. Young Sheldon is the lone exception for CBS; the sitcom will have 14-15 episodes for its sixth season.

CBS viewers can also expect Survivor season 46 to premiere on Wednesday, Feb. 28. The competition series will have a two hour debut and a two hour slot on March 6 as well before returning to a 90 minute runtime on March 13 when the new season of The Amazing Race premieres. The globe-trotting series will remain a 90 minute program on the network.

All of CBS’ midseason shows are expected to run through May. You’ll note, in the full schedule shared below, that the Matlock remake, starring Kathy Bates, and Poppa’s House led by Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans, Jr. are not present. They’ve been held for the 2024-2025 schedule.
