ABC confirms The Golden Bachelor season 2 during the Fantasy Suites

It’s official! We will be getting a season 2 of The Golden Bachelor! ABC made the announcement during the Fantasy Suites episode of the show’s inaugural run with an ad letting viewers know they can now apply or nominate someone for the next season of the series.

The renewal comes as no surprise considering how we’ve all fallen in love with the set-up of the show. Watching older adults look to find love again after loss, be it divorce or the death of their spouse, has been heartwarming. But it hasn’t been entirely wholesome either as The Golden Bachelor has retained the same zing, spice, and drama seen in all of its iterations.

What we’re waiting on next is word that there will be a spin-off, The Golden Bachelorette. We’ve been keeping our fingers crossed that we’ll see one of the ladies who didn’t win Gerry’s heart get the opportunity to step in the spotlight and go on their own journey toward love where it’s their turn for suitors to be vying for their hand in marriage.

Perhaps we’ll find out come The Golden Bachelor‘s season finale on Thursday, Nov. 30. If we do get a spin-off, either Theresa or Leslie could be the Golden Bachelorette. Or another one of the vibrant women who made quite the impression on Gerry’s season like Joan or Faith. Time will tell.

In the meantime, we’ll be waiting to see who Gerry chooses. He’s expressed his love for both Leslie and Theresa. And choosing between the two will be an agonizing decision for him, so much so that he’s said deciding is the worst he’s felt since the passing of his wife.
