The Polar Express streaming guide: Where to watch and how to buy
By Sandy C.
Tis’ the season to watch our favorite holiday movies! Now, we may not have time to check off every movie from our list, but one we can’t skip is The Polar Express. But if you don’t own the adventure fantasy film on Blu-ray or DVD (or have it on Digital), you may be wondering where to watch it. We’re here to help!
Based on the children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg, The Polar Express sees Tom Hanks bring many of characters to life. The magical adventure about believing takes Chris (aka Hero Boy in the movie) on a train ride to the North Pole. The journey teaches Chris about the spirit of Christmas. The movie also stars the voices of Daryl Sabara, Nona Gaye, Jimmy Bennett, and Eddie Deezen.
The Polar Express premiered in the 2004, yet it continues to be a holiday movie favorite. Watching our favorite movies has never been easier thanks to VOD services and streaming platforms, so it can be really frustrating when a movie we want to see is not available. Thankfully, there are many options when it comes to watching The Polar Express.
Here’s where The Polar Express is streaming
Stream it on: Max (formerly HBO Max)
Rent it on: Prime Video
Buy it on: Vudu or your VOD service of your choice
Of all the streaming platforms, Max is the only place to watch The Polar Express. It is also available on Prime Video, but via the Max add-on option. However, if you don’t have access to Max, you may still be able to see it — and for free! It’s available on TNT free as part of your cable subscription, as well as TBS.
If you want to rent a movie, I always recommend Prime Video, especially if you shop on Amazon often as you can easily collect credits that can go towards movie purchases and rentals.
