Missy Peregrym announces FBI season 6 is filming with a relatable Mom moment
By Sabrina Reed
FBI season 6 is filming! It was previously reported that cameras would start rolling on the CBS procedural drama sometime in November but a start date wasn’t confirmed. Now we know that that filming is underway thanks to Missy Peregrym’s Instagram post (from Nov. 26) that included a relatable moment for working mothers whose jobs take them away from their kids for extended periods of time.
In the video post, Peregrym explains that she’s driving back home to the city as filming on FBI season 6 is set to begin on Monday, Nov. 27. She mentioned that she’d sobbed with her son Otis, who’s three years old, because the mother-son pair know that Peregrym won’t be around as much while she’s starring as Maggie Bell. But the actress also mentions that she knows she’s going to laugh her head off when she sees her FBI family.
Whether you’re a parent or you’re not, when Peregrym speaks to adulthood being about holding both sorrow and joy, it resonates. It’s a poignant perspective. She is a mother of two, her youngest Mela is 18 months old, as well a lead actress on a hit TV series. Both positions hold a place in her life and a balance must be struck even when it’s hard.
FBI season 6, like all seasons of the show, is filming in New York City. The premiere is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 8 p.m. ET. The sixth season will consist of 13 episodes with a finale primed to air in May. It’s doubtful that the season will run uninterrupted.
The full transcript of Missy Peregrym’s Instagram post:
"“Hey, guys. I’m driving back home to the city to start work tomorrow, and sobbed my little head off today with Otis because we both know I’m not really going to be around as much. But, man, I know I’m going to laugh my head off when I see my other family tomorrow. Both things, you know? That’s an adult now, you’ve got all the things. You’ve got the sorrow and the joy at the same time. I’m still practicing holding them both. But I’m really excited that we get to go back to work and make the show we love to make. Yes, Priscilla, this is your hat. You left it at my house so I guess it’s mine now. Alright, guys, I’ll see you soon.”"
