Though Rachel begins the series as a privileged and pretty naive young woman, she goes through really awesome character growth and development by the end. In the first episode of Friends, Rachel is introduced to the group as Monica’s pal who’s just runaway from her own wedding. She comes from a well-off family and has very little work or real-life experience. Of course, living in New York City will change that! Rachel evolves into a career-oriented, independent character who is really admirable. She’s best known for her humor and charm, fashion sense, and loyalty.

Some of Rachel’s biggest storylines revolve around her career growth, landing jobs at Bloomingdale’s and other respectable department stores, along with her on-and-off relationship with Ross Geller. Fans can’t help but root for Ross and Rachel despite the many disagreements they have and hardships. Of course, that’s because they’re meant for each other and we’re glad they do end up together!
