It’s hard to believe that we’ve made it all the way to the Strictly Come Dancing Quarter Finals. It seems like just yesterday that a new bunch of hopeful would-be dancers first stepped onto that Dancefloor and lit up the stage with some awesome routines.

Now here we are, with just a handful of couples left, all hoping to make their way to the Semi-Final. That passion showed on the Saturday night show as they took to the dancefloor to perform another routine.

It’s also worth noting that the Quarter Finals is also the Musicals Week special, so each of the routines were inspired by beloved musicals.

*** This article contains spoilers from Strictly Week 11’s Saturday Night show. If you have not watched this week’s Musical Week Special yet and don’t want the dances or scores to be spoiled for you, don’t read on! ***

Strictly spoilers and results: Week 11 Leaderboard

The Musicals Week special was full of colorful, larger-than-life routines that will surely go down in Strictly history. Unfortunately, Nigel and Katya couldn’t take part in the show as the former had suffered an injury and was forced to withdraw from the competition. With that, the remaining four couples all competed with their musicals-inspired routines.

Ellie and Vito opened the show on a high with a cheerful Beauty and the Beast-inspired Quickstep, while Layton and Nikita went larger-than-life with an attention-grabbing Moulin Rouge-themed Paso Doble that scored the first 40 of the series. Annabel and Johannes delivered a beautiful, powerful Foxtrot to “For Good” from Wicked (that was sorely undermarked), and Bobby and Dianne recreated movie magic with a Dirty Dancing-inspired Salsa.

Here are the results from the Strictly Week 11 Saturday night show, the scores, and the Leaderboard we were left with:

  • Layton and Nikita danced the Paso Doble – 10, 10, 10, 10 = 40
  • Ellie and Vito danced the Quickstep – 9, 9, 9, 9 = 36
  • Bobby and Dianne danced the Salsa – 8, 8, 9, 9 = 34
  • Annabel and Johannes danced the Foxtrot – 8, 8, 8, 9 = 33

Nigel and Katya are leaving Strictly Come Dancing

Nigel and Katya have been forced to withdraw from Strictly Come Dancing this week and thus become the tenth couple to exit the program. According to the official BBC Strictly social media accounts, Nigel suffered an injury ahead of this weekend’s live show, which is why he was forced to leave the competition. He subsequently revealed on tonight’s episode of Strictly that he injured his ribs. The show provided an emotional “best bits” clip for him and Katya.

As a result of Nigel and Katya’s unfortunate exit, Tess and Claudia revealed that there would be no elimination in the Quarter Final and that all of the scores would be carried over to next week’s Semi-Final. As a result, the Leaderboard from this week will remain in play next week.

That means that Layton and Nikita’s top spot positions them well for the Semi-Final, as they are now four points ahead of Ellie and Vito. As a result, there is a strong possibility that they will retain the top spot after next week’s two dances. Meanwhile only one point separates Bobby and Annabel, leaving it all to play for between them next week too.

We’ll miss seeing Nigel and Katya light up the dancefloor. They did so well getting to the Quarter Finals and we have no doubt that their Charleston would have been a show-stopper.
