The Morning Show season 4 filming window, release update and more
The Morning Show just wrapped up Season 3, but already there’s talk on what Season 4 can be like and when it can premiere. Here’s what we know so far!
Caution: This article has SPOILERS for The Morning Show Season 3
Apple TV+’s first launch show in 2019, The Morning Show revolves around the news crew for the fictional UBA network, who handle reporting on major stories while dealing with some wild antics, not the least of which being a scandal regarding one co-anchor (Steve Carrell). The main focus is on Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston) and Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon), both doing their best to succeed, while UBA CEO Cory Ellison (Billy Cudrup) pulls some moves to maintain control.
Season 3 had some wild changes to the show that will impact Season 4 in some major ways. But when can Season 4 start filming?
How did Season 3 of The Morning Show end?
As Paul Marks (Jon Hamm) began his final moves to buy up UBA and force Cory out, Alex realized Marks (who she was also sleeping with) had secretly been spying on her and everyone else in UBA. She and Bradley also found out that Marks was covering up that the technical snafu of his space rocket in the Season 3 premiere had been a system failure on his end, not UBA, and proof his technology was faulty.
Realizing that if Marks got control of UBA, the network would become a mouthpiece for him and never report real news, Alex pulled off a genius idea. She managed to arrange a merger between UBA and rival network NBN that Marks couldn’t match. Alex basically blackmailed Marks into accepting this deal, or she’d expose the truth about his company.
That left Cory back as CEO but in a strange partnership with Alex. Meanwhile, Bradley decided to turn herself in to the FBI for covering up the footage of her brother at the Capitol riots. That leaves a lot coming for Season 4?
Who stars in The Morning Show Season 4?
While it’s a sure bet Aniston and Witherspoon return, the fates of other characters are up in the air. True, Alex fired Chip from TMS, but it’s hard to see Mark Duplass leaving. Likewise, while Cory was under investigation, Billy Cudrup doesn’t seem likely to leave either. However, it’s probable Jon Hamm is gone as a regular with Marks’ story wrapped up, although a chance he will make an appearance during the season. It’s probable some new characters will be added, but that’s unsure yet.
- Jennifer Aniston as Alexandra “Alex” Levy
- Reese Witherspoon as Bradley Jackson
- Billy Crudup as Cory Ellison
- Mark Duplass as Charlie “Chip” Black

When will Season 4 of The Morning Show premiere?
In a big talk at Variety’s “A Night at the Writer’s Room” panel, various showrunners talked of being back at work following the end of the WGA and SAG strikes. The Morning Show showrunner Charlotte Stoudt shared her hopes that “The Morning Show” will start shooting Season 4 in spring or summer and have been in the room for “four weeks.”
This would lead to the series coming back to Apple TV+ in late 2024 or early 2025. As usual, the streamer will wait to have all episodes in the can before announcing a premiere date but are as eager to get one of their big shows back on the air as fans are.
So for now, The Morning Show is in for a long wait before Season 4 premieres but at least fans are sure filming is set for 2024 and the show is rolling along shortly afterward.
