3 Best moments of 911 Season 9 (and 3 we wish we could forget)

911 Season 9 had some of the best moments in the show, but also plenty of storylines that left fans feeling confused. Here are some of the 3 best moments and 3 we wish we could forget from the season.

911 season 9 was one of those seasons where a lot of storylines felt like they were either left incomplete or as though the writers had an idea but then something changed at the last minute. While the season certainly had its perks, there were also some storylines that left us scratching our heads. Even so, there are some moments this season that had fans excited and looking forward to what was going to happen next.

Of course, even with the best moments of the season as a whole, there are some plots we wish we could forget ever happened. However, season 10 will likely give us a fresh start and hopefully will let the characters have their moments in the sun. But here is what we enjoyed about season 9 and what we wish we could forget.

ELIJAH M. COOPER

BEST: Harry officially joining the team

Harry Grant is the son of Athena Grant and her ex-husband Michael, who lives in Florida with his husband, David. He was also raised by Athena’s late husband Bobby Nash, and he was one of the inspirations for Harry wanting to become a firefighter.

The beginning of season 9 saw Harry turning to Evan “Buck” Buckley for advice, and it was great to see Harry flourish, especially since we have known him since he was a little kid in the pilot. While Harry certainly had growing pains when he was training, he showed himself to be a competent firefighter as he began his journey as a probie.

RYAN GUZMAN

WORST: The Abigail and Eddie storyline

Eddie had a storyline involving a victim they rescued named Abigail. She was an 18-year-old girl who had been held against her will by her own parents, and they had been attempting to exorcise her when the team was called to help her.

Because Eddie testified at their trial, Abby became attached to him, and it was definitely creepy, as she seemed to become infatuated with him. There was also one point where she actually went to Eddie’s house, and we still do not know how she got his address. Or we blocked that out because Eddie didn’t seem to realize that it was unhealthy for her to have shown up at his place.

Eventually, it turned out that Abigail’s dad was stalking her in an attempt to lure her home, and she used Eddie to get help. While the entire storyline itself started off creepy, Eddie did end up helping her in the end. We still could have done without the creepy kitchen scene where it looked like something was about to happen between them.

CORINNE MASSIAH

BEST: May and Ravi becoming official

The pairing of May Grant and firefighter Ravi Panikkar was such a great surprise, and fans are looking forward to watching their relationship grow. While Ravi may have messed up at first, ghosting May when he thought her brother Harry didn’t want them dating, he eventually took a chance, and they began to build a relationship.

While we haven’t seen much of them together yet, the season 9 finale did show how important Ravi was in being there by May’s side when her mom was in danger. He also put himself in danger when the person coming after Athena found them, but luckily things turned out okay. Now that May is becoming a nurse, it will be fun to see how they both navigate this new journey in their lives alongside their careers.

WORST: The dispatch center food poisoning scene

I will be honest, I watched this scene with my eyes closed. In one episode, Maddie Han was trying to bond with her coworkers after she took over as a supervisor, and she accidentally gave everyone food poisoning. This was one of the grossest scenes in the show, and there was an actual amputation in the first episode.

So while the episode did eventually end with Maddie’s friend and co-worker, Josh reminding her that she was still their friend, we could have done without the actual depiction of everyone getting sick.

BEST: The team coming together for Buck

After Buck was abducted while returning home from a firefighter competition with his co-worker Eddie Diaz, he began to struggle with an opioid addiction. It got to the point where he almost stole drugs from the ambulance, and when he told his brother-in-law and captain, Chimney Han (Kenny Choi), the team rallied around him.

It also turned out that this was the week of the anniversary of Bobby’s death, and everyone came together to support Buck as he began going through withdrawals. This was such a powerful moment, especially when you take into account that none of them could physically help Bobby when he was dying. One of the most moving parts of that storyline was when Athena told Buck she was there because Bobby would have been if he could.

Of course, not every storyline was perfect. There are some moments from the season we wish we could forget.

WORST: Buck’s friends dying

One of the biggest shocks of the season was Buck reuniting with his old friends Connor and Kameron, who he helped donate sperm to so they could have a baby in season 6. While this was a storyline fans thought might return, it happened in such an unexpected way that we wish we could forget it happened. Connor and Kameron ended up dying in a car crash, leaving Theo an orphan and Buck feeling crushed at losing his friends.

Buck ended up deciding to foster Theo on his own, and while this is something that could be an interesting exploration of Buck’s character in Season 10, it could have been done so differently. There are still conflicting feelings in fan spaces for how this storyline will go, but one thing is for sure, and that is killing off Connor and Kameron was a decision that we wish we could forget ever happened.

So those are just some of the best and worst moments from the show, although we could talk about the ups and downs from season 9 of 911 all day. Instead, we will just wait for season 10 and see what ridiculous situations our favorite characters get into next.

For now, you can watch season 9 on Hulu while you enjoy the summer hiatus.
