The first season finale of Best Medicine just wrapped. Although it resolved the plot of whether the town would be sold, it left many questions unanswered.
Now fans have to wait until next season to hopefully get some answers. There are a few that fans can wish were wrapped up as the second season begins.
1. Glendon gets his punishment from the town.
The town has been welcoming to Doc Martin. They have allowed him to soften. Except for Glendon Ross. He went behind the back of the town to sell it to the merchant company and has seen himself as superior to everyone.
With him trying to get the doctor's medical license revoked, fans of the show can hope they come to the doc's rescue and finally rid themselves of Glendon in a satisfying way.
2. Elaine finds her path to a career
Throughout the season, Elaine had been trying to find her path to becoming an internet star or actress. Despite setbacks, she has the support of her boyfriend, Martin, and the town.
Hopefully at the beginning of the second season she will find her true passion and what she wants to do. She worked well with Doc Martin and maybe could follow in his footsteps as a doctor.
3. Greg and George are upped to series regulars
The love triangle may be a huge part of the series. However, the heart of the show and the most adorable couple are Greg and George. The owners of the Salty Breeze, their relationship can melt the heart of any who watch.
The actors, Stephen Spinella (Greg) and Jason Veasey (George) have added much humor and the right touch of drama to the show and should be updated as regulars with other stars of the series as the next season gets underway.
4. Doc Martin and Louisa finally date.
The whole season set up the will-they-or-won't-they between Doc Martin and the teacher, Louisa. Her wanting to have a baby, possibly with Mark, may complicate things.
Also, the newest obstacle of Doc Martin's old girlfriend being in the picture adds even more to the show's love dynamic. However, it is obvious Martin and Louisa love each other, and the show should address the romance sooner than later.
One can only hope that when they do get together, Mark also finds love. Despite him being a part of the love story, he has his own arc, and fans of the character and series would appreciate him being happy as possibly a father or boyfriend to a new character.
Whether it's this fall or next January, fans will be ripe with anticipation for the second season and storylines to get underway.
