It’s hard to believe 911 season 9 is almost over for the television season. With just two episodes left, fans are looking forward to seeing how the show plays out the remaining storylines, especially since season 10 is already in the bag. But when will the next episodes air on ABC?

Unfortunately, despite only two episodes left in the season, we have to wait three more weeks until the next episode. We had a feeling this was coming since normally television shows end closer to May, and with only a few episodes left for 911 season 9, the timing had to be just right.

911 season 9, episode 17, titled “I Got You Babe,” is scheduled to air on Thursday, April 30. So far, we do not know much about the episode. The promo that aired after the previous episode left very little for us to go on. We saw an emergency involving a child standing on an electrical tower and another where a boat detached on a freeway, leading to an accident.

There was also a shot of Evan “Buck” Buckley (Oliver Stark) looking horrified as two firefighters held him back. So far it isn’t clear who is holding onto him or what he is looking at. We can only speculate that a member of his team could be in danger.

The last episode also foreshadowed we would be seeing Detective Hooks again, the one who helped Athena with a case. He had come down to the hospital after the 118 found a group of migrants following multiple calls to an apartment building that eventually led to a fire. After talking to the team, he was seen making a phone call and telling someone they may have a problem.

Since Athena is connected to this detective, this might be a plotline that involves her leading into the finale, so we’re looking forward to seeing Athena back in action. She’s taken a backseat recently, and in the last episode, she only appeared once, so it feels likely the arc with the detective will involve her.

With an episode title as the name of the popular Sonny & Cher song from the 1960’s, episode 17 will likely also deal with romance. May Grant and Ravi Panikkar have been getting closer, and we’re still wondering if Aimee Teegarden will return as Alex since it did seem like something could be brewing between her and Eddie Diaz. Plus, we’re still hoping there is romance coming for Buck since he has been through the wringer this season, so he deserves happiness.

All in all, we’re excited for what is to come even if we do have to wait for a while until we see the remaining two episodes of season 9. For now, you can catch up on the rest of the season streaming on Hulu.
