Fans of The Pitt and 911 will be in for a surprise to see a guest star from the latter show appear on the Noah Wylie-led series. Lou Ferrigno Jr., who played the love interest of Evan “Buck” Buckley on 911 is making his first television debut on The Pitt since his last on-screen appearance on 911.

TVLine reported Ferrigno Jr. will be joining HBO Max’s The Pitt for season 2 beginning Thursday, March 12. While there is no information on the number of appearances he will be making, we do know he will play an orthopedic surgeon named Dr. Brendon Park.

Ferrigno Jr. played firefighter-turned-pilot Tommy Kinard in recurring episodes of 911 before he began dating Oliver Stark’s character, Buck, in seasons 7 and 8. The last time he appeared on the Angela Bassett-led show was in season 8 at the funeral for Peter Krause’s Captain Bobby Nash, who died after being exposed to a deadly pathogen.

While there has been no confirmation that he will be returning to 911, fans have been wondering when Ferrigno Jr. will return to television again. In addition to 911, he also had a recurring role on CBS’s S.W.A.T., and with the new spinoff S.W.A.T: Exiles, he could also eventually reappear on that show. But for now, he will trade in the firefighter and S.W.A.T badges for a hospital badge.

There have been rumors swirling online about him having a guest role on The Pitt, which is set at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. Each episode of the series follows one hour out of the entire 12-hour shift. Now it has been confirmed he will appear in at least one episode, and there could be a possibility for more appearances.

In addition to Ferrigno Jr., actor David Fumero from L.A.’s Finest is set to star in the same episode as an ER patient named Derek Foster. He might need help from Park himself, depending on what his injury is. A still from the episode showed Park standing beside Alexandra Metz’s Dr. Yolanda Garcia.

The show stars Noah Wylie, who is also an executive producer, and season 2 will continue to follow the “challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America,” according to the logline for the series.

Other stars include Katherine LaNasa, Patrick Ball, Taylor Dearden, Sepideh Moafi, and Shawn Hatosy. Wylie’s character, Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, will be on sabbatical in season 2, leaving the department in the care of Moafi’s Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi.

The Pitt streams on HBO Max Thursdays at 9/8c. You can watch Ferrigno Jr.’s appearances on 911 streaming on Hulu.
