Sometimes, life isn’t fair. Things happen out of our control and we just have to accept it. Fortunately, that isn’t the case in The Summit for Amy.

In the newest episode tonight, Wednesday, Nov. 13, we’ll see the group have to get across a chasm. It’s something that the majority of them have probably never done before, but they’re ready for the challenge. It turns out that there is some sort of consequence for those who don’t make it across holding onto the rope at all times.

So, it is disappointing for Amy when she doesn’t make it across at first. However, you can see in the sneak peek for the new episode that this isn’t her fault. It’s the rope.

The Summer sneak peek shows the failing rope

Dusty is quick to point out at the start of the sneak peek that the rope frays. Then we cut to a clip of it, and sure enough, Amy doesn’t slip off the rope. It’s a failure within the rope, and this could have been much more serious than it was. Fortunately for Amy, she just gets to be infuriated with the turn of events.

That’s okay, though, the safety team wants her to get a second chance. After all, why not give her a second chance when this had nothing to do with her abilities? Doesn’t she get a fair shot like the rest of them? I love that The Summit is doing this; and I love that we get to see her try again. It’s important to give us a look at producers saying something went wrong and they are willing to fix it for an even playing field.

I get that some people won't be happy to see this. There are others who didn't make it across, but that was a failure on their end. Amy does have it a little harder now, as she's already tired from doing it once. Now she has to do it again! In a way, it's still not an even playing field.

Does she make it across the second time? I’ll leave you to check out the sneak peek of The Summit to find out:

The Summit airs Wednesdays at 9:30/8:30c on CBS. Catch up the following day on Paramount+.
