Who would've thought a supposed light-hearted April Fool's Day joke would explode into destructive chaos? And that's exactly what happens in The Rookie season 7, episode 12, "April Fools." airing tonight, April 1. To even heighten the situation, the LAPD made the joke, and when law enforcement cracks something like that, don't expect it to be ignored by the public.

Now, it's up to Officer Nolan and the other officers to correct their mistake before it gets out of hand and destroys Los Angeles. It's too little, to late though, as the city has become a hell blaze of crime.

Meanwhile, "April Fools" will give us more Chenford content, and I kid you not about that. There has to be something soft to ease over the drama the officers encounter daily in their jobs, so why not have Tim and Lucy be the softness? Even if they don't go back to their previous couple status, I'm just as satisfied with their "Work Friends With Benefits And Play" stage.

But since it is April 1st, I hope the couple's chemistry goes beyond tonight and not some ploy to tease the fans. There's been monumental build-up this season, and I hate to see it diminish due to a day of intended mischief.

In a Swoon interview with Richard T. Jones, who portrays LT. Grey, on The Rookie, teases that his character knows the pros and cons of balancing a romance with a work environment, especially when it entails dangerous cases. At the same time, Grey wants his employees to be happy, and if that's the case, then more power to Tim and Lucy.

The LAPD post blows up in The Rookie season 7, episode 12: "April Fools"

The Rookie season 7, episode 11 left the audience on a cliffhanger, as the high-time fugitive and mastermind, Monica, has become the central focus again. But tonight, she's pushed aside, as the LAPD literally has to calm the flames, as their innocent April Fools post on social media was the root cause of it.

Perhaps in the future, don't post anything crime-related on April Fools Day, no matter how innocent it might be. There's alway going to be a few people who'll take it to the next level.
