Prime Video might be filming the feature-length continuation of The Summer I Turned Pretty this spring, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's all peaches and cream in "TV/Movie Romance Land."
In the case of Boston Blue, it's far from it.
With the 15th episode of CBS's latest police drama set to air this Friday, April 17, first-look images have indicated that the romantic relationship that was cultivated between Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and his girlfriend/ex-partner, Detective Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez), might not be going so strong anymore. This development seems to be coming after the pair's relationship was hyped and developed towards the end of the original Blue Bloods series.
The 15th episode, titled "For Those Who Weren't Heard," will see Baez return for the first time since Episode 6 ("Code of Ethics"). That episode saw her team up with Reagan and Boston PD detective Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green) to track down a home invader.
IMDB's official synopsis for "For Those Who Weren't Heard" reads, "A Brooklyn murder case forces Danny and Lena to team up with Danny's ex-partner Maria Baez in a cross-city investigation. They work to find the truth and shield a victim while facing tests of loyalty and ethics amid complex family issues."
As the synopsis teases, Danny and Maria will face tests of loyalty, which is cause enough for concern but what really has us worried. The photo (pictured below) sees a teary-eyed Baez looking at Danny alone, making us worry the shot could be from the moment the pair decide that long-distance might not be working for them any longer.

Boston Blue is a spinoff of the CBS police drama Blue Bloods, which ran from 2010 to 2024 and was set in New York City. The original series focused on the Reagan family and their role in the city's law enforcement. The spinoff focuses on Wahlberg's character as he transfers to the Boston Police Department and works alongside Martin Green's character, who is part of Boston's equivalent of the Reagan family.
Alongside his work as Danny Reagan, Wahlberg appeared in the fifth season of The Masked Singer. He also appeared in the second, third, and fourth Saw movies as Detective Eric Matthews.
As for Martin-Green, she cameoed in a 2011 episode of the teen drama Gossip Girl while also taking on the role of Michael Burnham in the sci-fi series Star Trek: Discovery. She also starred alongside LeBron James and Don Cheadle in Space Jam: A New Legacy.
The first season of Boston Blue is set to run for 20 episodes, with the finale airing on Friday, May 22.
All episodes of Boston Blue are available to stream on Paramount+.
