Boston Blue is giving fans their first look at Will Estes' return as Jamie Reagan in season 2.

Estes will appear in the show's Friday, November 6th episode, titled "Blood Diamonds," airing at 10/9c on CBS. Newly released photos show the Reagans reuniting for the first time since Blue Bloods ended in 2024.

In the episode, "Jamie visits Boston, but his trip takes a sharp turn when he and Danny get caught up in a violent diamond heist tied to a local family feud. The case forces the brothers to deal with unresolved personal tensions," per the official logline.

Boston Blue creators Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier spoke with TVLine about Estes' return and teased new developments in his life.

"He is embracing a new role in his [professional] life, just like he's embracing the role of father in his life," Sonnier teased. He also alluded to the fact that the work-related trip would allow Jamie and Danny to reconnect after living apart for several years.

The last time we saw Jamie was in Blue Bloods' series finale, when he and his wife, Eddie, announced they were having a baby. Later, in Boston Blue season 1, Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) showed Lena (Sonequa Martin-Green) a photo Jamie sent him of Jamie's son, Joseph Francis Reagan. The moment seemed to allude to the youngest Reagan brother making an appearance, but nothing was confirmed until season 2.

A lot of excitement surrounds Estes' return, but no one is more pumped than Donnie Wahlberg. "Man, what a wonderful experience that was for both of us... to reconnect," he told TVLine. "We played all this history, but we have history off screen, too, and we haven't spoken in a while.... It was very healing... and wonderful... and emotional."

"Whenever somebody from Blue Bloods comes aboard, something very special happens on screen and off," he continued. "Our cast and crew are so receptive to them and so appreciative of them, and they're appreciative back.... I don't think Boston Blue needs validation from Blue Bloods, but the fact that these characters from Blue Bloods offer so much to Boston Blue, it does mean a lot. I can see how much it means to all of us in the cast."

"Blood Diamonds," directed by Chicago Fire alum Monica Raymund, will see Lena investigate suspicious deaths connected to one of Reverend Peters' patrons; Mae face a difficult case after a swatting incident; and Sarah and Seth encounter an unexpected hurdle while wedding planning.

Boston Blue airs every Friday at 10/9c on CBS.
