The Bold and the Beautiful did us a solid in Friday, Nov. 22's episode by not forcing us to wait until next week to find out whether Brooke Logan would spill the beans about what her daughter Hope and Forrester Creation's COO Carter Walton are plotting. She did! The secret is out and, of course, it was her love Ridge, the company's Co-CEO, that she went to after eavesdropping.

He'd been in the middle of having a lovely conversation with his best friend, the mother of three of his children, and ex-wife Dr. Taylor Hayes, which momentarily had me worried Brooke was going to keep quiet, but the Logan gave her daughter up as soon as Taylor excused herself. Thank goodness! Now this storyline can get the show on the road. And it doesn't look like Brooke's going to break her back to save Hope from the judgement that's about to fall.

She told Ridge that Hope is involved and that Carter planned a coup with her daughter. First, however, she let him in on a detail about the recently fired brand ambassador's life that she's been hiding. It was news to Ridge that Hope and Carter are seeing each other but learning of their relationship did shed light on why his COO has been so adamant about being on Hope's side. But that was small potatoes compared to the reveal that Carter took the company right from under him using the LLC paperwork he, and his daughter Steffy, just signed.

The preview for the week of Nov. 25 showed that Ridge will be confronting Carter in Forrester's main office but there's a real question of whether it's going to make a lick of difference. Short of getting the police involved because what Carter did was fraud, there are only two ways to walk this back. Either Carter hasn't filed the contracts yet so they're not binding and Ridge can convince him not to carry out this huge betrayal in full or he has and Ridge threatens legal action with the intent on getting the authorities involved unless Carter draws up a new contract reverting control back to him and Steffy.

In all of Hope and Carter's waxing about how taking Forrester is the right thing to do, neither of them stopped to think about the repercussions of their actions. This isn't as simple as hurt feelings. What they've done, though Carter would likely be the only one to take the fall for it because it's his name on the contract, is illegal. Ridge and Steffy signed the paperwork under false pretenses. This isn't a coup carried out via getting enough shares to take control nor is it a situation where it would be too embarrassing to come forward about what really happened.

The fallout from this can only go bad, it's just a matter of how bad. The Bold and the Beautiful seems to be gearing up to drag Hope and Carter's heads out of the clouds and get them to face some hard truths. Considering they've been nothing but a mess about this when the simplest solution to getting Hope back at Forrester and reinstating HFTF was to tell the truth about their romance, it's about time!
