We're more than halfway through season 13 of Chicago Fire, but with so much more story still coming our way this spring, fans continue to wonder what's going on with Sam Carver and Violet Mikami. And even though we don't have specific details (no spoilers here), there is some tea!
Showrunner Andrea Newman recently spoke with TVLine, and passed along some clues for fans about we can expect from Carver and Violet's stories in upcoming episodes. We love that she confirmed our suspicions without giving too much away -- but they'll definitely be sharing scenes together. "There’s a lot of drama coming up with the two of them,” Newman confirmed.
She went on to reveal that yes, we can absolutely count on Violet and Carver having a lot going on between the two of them as we get further into the season. “There’s a lot of repercussions that still are playing out from what happened at the end of last season when she pushed him away," she said. "They’re trying to figure out where they’re at and where each of their emotional lives are at and how they can connect." But then she clarified that's it's "if they can connect."
So to recap -- we will be seeing much more of Carver and Violet in Chicago Fire season 13, but what we don't know is what kind of terms the two of them will be on by the end of the season. I'm definitely rooting for them though (and I think many other fans of the show are as well).
It's been confirmed that the show has returned to its full 22-episode order this year, which means we'll still have new episodes of Chicago Fire season 13 -- and lots of Carver and Violet story -- until at least the end of April (pending any skipped weeks for reruns).
What's happening in Chicago Fire season 13, episode 13?
The first episode to air following this tease from Newman will be season 13, episode 13, which is called "Born of Fire." NBC shared that in the episode, Violet will be approached by her "former nemesis", who begs Violet for her help. We don't know exactly who this is referring to, but some are speculating that it's Emma Jacobs, who we last saw in season 11.
New Chicago Fire episodes for season 13 will return on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and will be available to stream the next day on Peacock. If you still need to catch up before watching the rest of the season, all previous episodes are currently available to stream.
