Kidd returns after taking an episode off in Chicago Fire season 13, episode 10. This is clear from photos of the episode, as there wasn’t a promo for it.
Note: This episode was supposed to air this week, but will now be preempted due to Biden's exit speech. The episode wil air on Wednesday, Jan. 22.
NBC surprised fans by a lack of promo for the new episode. In a way, the lack of promo makes sense. The previous episode ended with a cliffhanger surrounding Cruz, as he ended up mixed up in the jam Junior put him in.
The last we saw of Cruz, he’d been shot in the arm after a shoot-out in the building Junior wanted to get into. Junior was shot dead at the scene as well. This is sure to come up in the new episode.
Kidd returns in Chicago Fire season 13, episode 10
The new episode will see Kidd return. We get that confirmation in both the images for the episode and the synopsis. It sounds like Firehouse 51 will be called out to an incident at a school or involving people at a local school. Kidd helps a teacher deal with a “post-incident spin-out,” although it’s not clear what that means.
With the push for Girls on Fire, is it possible that this is linked to a student in the teacher’s class? Could she want to get help for a young girl who could benefit from something like Kidd’s program?
Meanwhile, Severide will need to deal with an incident involving one of his own Squad 3 members. Of course, we know what that likely is. It’s surely linked to Cruz, who was shot in the arm during the incident with Junior. Cruz will need to own up to what he did that night. Severide will want to help cover it up. It’s not like Severide has done things the right way in the past when he suffered an injury.
One of the calls will be to a community center, which could be what the teacher storyline is linked to. There may be classes there, or the some of the students may be involved in activities there. Either way, the community center could end up facing a huge loss depending on the type of incident Firehouse 51 is getting called out to.
Check out the synopsis for Chicago Fire season 13, episode 10:
"The team responds to a crisis at a community center; Severide is forced to investigate one of his own squad members; Kidd helps a teacher going through a post-incident spin-out."
