Breaks happen in the TV schedule, and NBC is opting for its first. Chicago Fire will take a break next Wednesday, along with the rest of the One Chicago franchise.
That’s right; there isn’t an episode of Chicago Fire on Wednesday, Oct. 30. This is bad news for fans, but there isn’t a long wait for the new episode. At least there’s a promo for the new episode out already to give us an idea of what to expect.
How long is the Chicago Fire break?
There isn’t a new episode for the rest of October. That’s okay, though, because there’s only one week left of the month anyway. We’ll get a new episode on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
This was confirmed in the promo for the next episode. That shows us that Pascal may be up to something. Severide ends up working with the Illinois State Police when he finds a shipment of guns while on a call. Pascal wants Severide to step down from this investigation, and in the promo, we see someone give Pascal a look that could suggest why.
Does Pascal know what’s going on? Does this person giving him the look have some sort of information on him that can be used in a blackmail situation? We don’t know Pascal well enough to know if he would turn a blind eye on something like this, but something tells me that he’s running scared.
Why is Chicago Fire taking a break?
What’s with this break, though? It’s always disappointing when the show takes a break, but it’s no unusual. NBC has to fit 22 episodes across nine months to fit the regular TV schedule, and that means breaks are needed now and then.
This is just the first of the breaks. After this, we’ll likely get a good number of episodes before the Christmas break. Sometimes, there is a one-week break around Thanksgiving.
Scheduling to episodes is likely the only reason Chicago Fire is taking a week off. The promo being available already gives that away.
Chicago Fire airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC. Catch up the following day on Peacock.
